Posted by (Richard Scotti) – On Monday the Clark County GOP announced that it will be cooperating with various Republican women’s groups to help put on the Lincoln Day Dinner, which the Party has ignored up to this point. The event is actually being organized by the Republican women’s groups in town, who chose to step up and help Republican candidates with the GOTV efforts here in Nevada.
However, I have it on good authority that several Republican women are reluctant to allow the CCRP to participate in any way in the Lincoln Day, given serious accusations that have been made about the CCRP’s mismanagement of funds, and failure to comply with protocols established by the former Treasurer and Chairman of the party. Having been informed of such issues, the Nevada State party is apparently stepping in to help put the pieces back together.
Even more distressing is the CCRP’s recent ‘”flashlight affair” wherein they slammed traditional Republicans.
The CCRP extensively promoted and sponsored a “Flashlight Meet-Up” event that was conducted at a local library about a week ago, for the expressed purpose of criticizing Republicans and others that did not meet the litmus test of the “tea party” and “Ron Paul” activists.
The plan was to put up pictures of people who were not solidly behind them, and shine flashlights and boo. While this may seem fairly innocuous on its face, at this Meet-Up, the CCRP Precinct Administrator bashed all of the Republicans who recently left leadership roles in the CCRP, and further bashed their friends and supporters, as “Marxists.”
Most of us who left are indeed fiscal conservatives and ardent supporters of constitutional rights, so the “Marxist” accusation” is a reflection of the deep paranoia and delusions within the current CCRP leadership.
Furthermore, the CCRP Precinct Administrator defamed me, the former chairman of the CCRP, by saying that “Richard Scotti is no friend of the CCRP.” Apparently, to be a “friend of the CCRP” you have to publicly attack members of your own party who do not pass the strict extreme right-wing litmus test. If that is the charge, then I am guilty.
But those who really know me, understand that I have been working selflessly to advance the Republican party and its candidates for many years here in Clark County, and will continue to do so despite the unfounded attacks on me and my Republican friends.
The existence of a fascist-like litmus test within the CCRP is no fantasy.
Diane Orrock, a newly-elected Executive Board member, has allowed to be posted the secret “CCRP Vetting Process” on the “Resistnet” website. See http://www.resistnet.com/group/nvresisters/forum/topics/ccrp-vetting-process. Mr. Orrock is the District Director of Resistnet, and has not taken any action to remove the post. This “CCRP Vetting Process” violates the CCRP Bylaws, and has never been approved by a vote of the Executive Board, or the CCRP Membership.
When asked today why he would permit Republicans within his group to attack their own, current Chairman Bob Ruckman replied: “That was not a CCRP event, and I am not responsible for what other Republicans say.”
Mr. Ruckman is obviously reluctant to stand up to the more reactionary elements in the new administration. Plus he is distorting the truth.
First, the CCRP aggressively advertised and promoted the “Flashlight Meet-Up.” Second, the “Flashlight Meet-Up was organized and conducted by CCRP leaders, including but not limited to the Precinct Administrator – Duane Libbe.
In response Mr. Ruckman claims that Duane Libbe had resigned his position as Precinct Administrator. The truth is, however, Duane had sent an email blast postponing his departure until AFTER that Meet-Up.
His hand-picked replacement is none other than Carl Bunce – the same Carl Bunce who Bob Ruckman accused of illegal eavesdropping during an Executive Board Meeting, and went so far as to file a police report against Mr. Bunce. Apparently, whoever is calling the shots for the newly formed tea-party/Ron Paul faction, that person is leading the CCRP on the wrong path.
Many of us who left leadership roles in the Clark County GOP want the CCRP to succeed, and are working hard to help Republicans throughout the County win their seats. We need the CCRP to regain their focus on winning elections so we can all succeed together.

Don’t Forget That the new state executive director, Brent Hussen was also suppose to have been listening in with Mr. Bunce in this accusation. The entire incident was a bunch of BS from what I have heard.
The accusations that a current precinct administrator made the remarks are 100% false. Why? Duane Libbe stepped down from that position at the last CCRCC meeting. Sorry Scotti, but this was not a ccrp event, and no officers made allegations. Good luck bud!
Sour grapes from the former GOP chairman? Don’t you love the “laweresque” way Richard says, “I have it on good authority” and then slams the CCRP with his name calling like “Fascist” and the outright lie saying that Duane Libbe is a CCRP officer. He is as much an officer in the CCRP as you are. I’m not afraid to name names, so why are you? Is it because they are as real as the little green men that live out in area 51?
Ya Richard, I called you a liar right here in public. So sue me Mr. Big Lawyer if I’m wrong! What a small man you are. I would win and you know it. What won’t surprise me is if Mr. Libbe sues you! Will your lawyer buddies defend you for free? Are you scared we back Judges with whom you disagree with our “Fascist Litmus Test? Or is it that you were planning on running for office yourself and your silver spoon was just taken away? To bad, so sad. You will have to earn your coveted position you took for granted now.
Your warped sense of what a good Republican is does not surprise me at all. If you call John Carpenter, a RINO with a worse tax and spend record than some Democrats, a “Good Republican,” you belong to the wrong party. I would urge you and John boy to re-register as Democrats at your earliest opportunity. The State is using the CCRP Precinct Meeting and Convention rules as the blueprint for all of Nevada. The only reason they are stepping in is to fix the mess you and your predecessors made of the Clark County Republican Party. Oh ya, I have this on good authority too.
The Democrat Party is the Party of Lawyers, is it not? You will fit right in. If you know as much about the history of our government as you profess to, you will know exactly how long it has been since the Republicans had a Lawyer for a Leader. There is a reason for that. It is the same reason you got tossed out on your little behind. Oh Ouch. That must a hurt!
I know, I know… how dare we shine the light on and make PUBLIC the PUBLIC voting record of a PUBLIC official. Shame shame on the nasty old CCRP. Forgive us Lord of the Lawyers, for we have sinned! How dare we check where the candidates stand on the issues before we support them. I know it must hurt your sensibilities that we don’t simply take their word for it.
You are correct on one point. The Republican Party is being taken over by the Tea Party People, the great unwashed masses of hard working people you despise so much. The same people who think the Government is overloaded with conceited know it all lawyers like yourself. This isn’t only happening in Clark county Nevada, this is happening Nationwide.
So wake-up RINO boy, the Conservative Revolution is coming at you liberal appeasers like a freight train and no amount of name calling and false statements can stop us.
Don’t worry, Senator Cegavske said she is going to make sure that none of the monies raised for Lincoln Day go to the CCRP, but will be used for state-controlled GOTV only.
The posters above who say that Duane Libbe stepped down DURING the last CCRP Central Committee meeting are lying to you. Here are the words of Mr. Libbe himself, as transmitted to his Precicnt Captains, telling them he would step down in the future – which wasn’t until AFTER the flashlight meeting:
“For those of you who did not make the CCRP meeting last night, I wanted to let you know that I will be soon resigning my position as Precinct Manager. The only reason I am delaying the ultimate resignation is to make sure there is an orderly transfer of the operation to Carl Bunce.” Watch out! The crazies at the CCRP now like to make stuff up.
I allowed the secret vetting process of the CCRP to be posted on the Resistnet site? My husband is the District Director of Resistnet? My, my, my…..Mr. Scotti certainly has an active and inaccurate imagination!! I allowed no such post on the Resistnet site and I have always been and continue to be Coordinator of Congressional District 3 of the Nevada Patriots on the Resistnet site. My husband has never been involved, in any capacity, on this site. The “Flashlight Meeting” , as Mr. Scotti chooses to call it, never was put forth as a CCRP function because it wasn’t. In the future, I would suggest that you, Mr. Scotti, research your information and accusations a little more thoroughly. Not that any accuracy is important to you. Being forthright and honest is a lot harder than being a “flame thrower”.
All of you need to knock it off and get down to the real business of winning, not whining. So Scotti exposed some stuff that you did not want to be known. And you called him names and showed that maybe Diana was not the “District Director” of Resistnet, but only the “Coordinator” of Resistnet. And maybe Duane the CCRP Precinct Administrator resigned one second before or one second after he presided over the flashlight meeting. Who really cares. Enough already. All of you stop acting like children or you are going to let Reid win.
I guess this unsanctioned CCRP “flashlight meeting” was also where Duane Libbe announced that Assembly District 5 candidate Tibi Ellis was for amnesty, right? Wow! Talk about a….how did you put it Diana, an active and inaccurate imagination. I think you folks at the CCRP are going to have bigger fish to fry than Mr. Scotti. Blatanly announcing outright lies at any meeting about one of only 3, count that, freakin 3!!! Hispanic candidates in our state will never get you very far with us Latinos. And since the African-American vote won’t be a factor in this race. Nor will the youth vote be a factor. I guess that only leaves one major culture left. Oh yeah, Hispanics!!! If I were you guys, I would start figuring out how your going to work this out with Ms. Ellis. Because you don’t want a bunch of us Hispanics getting together to talk about you guys.

True enough. Scotti needs to spend his time doing what he claims to be doing and give up his personal vendetta against the Clark GOP. The Sue & Danny show is much more interesting.
Isn’t Scotti working for Sandoval’s campaign? Don’t they have better things to work on?
