(Christensen for Senate campaign) – Ending weeks of speculation, Chad Christensen announced his run for US Senate today near his home Assembly District in Summerlin. Christensen told reporters that he would continue the work he has done for 8 years in the State Legislature by fighting for lower taxes and less government intrusion into American’s lives while in Washington DC.

Christensen also expressed his thoughts and prayers to Harry Reid and his family today with the news of the auto accident that seriously injured Reid’s wife and daughter.

“Our families have known each other for years, and we will keep them in our prayers and hope for the best.” Chad and Reid’s son Leif attended Brigham Young University together.

Christensen also appeared on Univision Thursday where the reporters and staff were impressed when Chad spoke Spanish during his hour long visit. Christensen is the only candidate in this race who is fluent in Spanish.

During the broadcast Univision stated that, “Chad can be the voice of the Spanish community.” Chad’s candidacy has the potential to unite Hispanic voters with the Republican Party where their conservative social values traditionally lie.

Christensen is the only current legislator in the US Senate race and has a strong 8 year history of conservative votes in Carson City. He is currently serving as the Republican Whip in the State Legislature and is known for his ability to connect with voters. His history of listening to his constituents and working hard in the 13th Assembly District has helped lead Chad to 4 consecutive election victories.

  1. Desmond says:

Chad might be a good candidate, but he grammar of this press release and the poor writing of his website make me hope he will not write any legislation. That has to be the worst campaign website ever.

  2. Desmond says:

    Sorry. “THE.”

  3. Chace's Dad says:

    Desmond,

Are you attacking grammar with improper grammar? Come on get real!

I suspect Chad will not hire you to help him with his web site. While you get a golden star for catching your he/the typo, you failed to catch your error on the verb “make” in the phrase “his web site make me hope”…. Ha Ha…. Clearly, Desmond is not qualified to be the grammar police, but he is right Chad might be a good candidate!!! GO CHAD!
