(Ilario Pantano) – Fellow Americans: It’s time to kick the liberals out of Washington and get America back on track.

My name is Ilario Pantano, and I’m a combat veteran of two wars that has succeeded in small business and authored a best-selling book. I’m a constitutional conservative and I’m running for Congress to retire an entrenched politician who does the bidding of Nancy Pelosi, liberal lobbyists and special interest groups in Washington. I’m confident that I can win this race if I have your support behind me. But before I tell you why, I want to share with you my story.

I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at 17. I fought in the first Persian Gulf War and I became a Marine Sniper and trained with militaries around the world. I left the Marines as a sergeant, and went to college and built a career. I was living the American dream. Then September 11th happened.

I immediately re-enlisted with the Marine Corps, graduated from Officer Candidate School, and deployed to Iraq. And it wasn’t long after that I experienced an event that would forever change the way I look at life. During one of the bloodiest phases of the war, I was forced to open fire and kill two insurgents. I received the praise of my commanders, and I never once doubted that I had done the right thing. But a few months later I learned that a man from my platoon, whom I had demoted, falsely reported the incident.

I was accused of the premeditated murder of two terrorists and faced a death sentence, if convicted. The national media immediately portrayed me to be a trigger-happy rogue Marine, and they never once suggested that my actions could have been justified. But I always believed the truth would prevail, and after a thorough investigation, it did. I was cleared of all charges and am proud to have served my country honorably.

Since announcing my candidacy I’ve been attacked by liberals from across the United States. The liberal blog Daily Kos even called me a “Jack Bauer Republican.” But the critics couldn’t be more wrong and I tell each of them, “I went out to do a dirty job for my country and in the process I got jammed up. I never broke with my Corps. I never broke with my country. I never said I was a victim. I took responsibility. I killed men in combat and if some don’t like it, don’t send men to war.”

As I am attacked by liberals from across the nation, I need conservatives to stand with me. I’m running for Congress because I can’t stand idle and watch Nancy Pelosi and her liberal cronies destroy the country I was willing to die for. As an infantry officer, I never took my men into a battle without a plan for victory. I’m entering this battle because I know I will win. But only if I can count on your help.

Will you stand with me and fight for this country we love by following this link and making a contribution to my campaign?

Democrats, like my opponent, are the middle-men who clear the way for the Pelosi radicals. It’s up to you and me to stop them. My opponent twice voted to make Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House and he is enabling her socialist schemes to bury Americans and their freedom under a mountain of debt. I’m challenging him because like you, I believe America is going in the wrong direction and fast.

I know how to fight and I know how to win. My opponent may have the cash advantage in this race – left-wing special interests groups like the trial lawyers and Union bosses are bankrolling his campaign – but I have the strength of my convictions that comes with serving a just cause.

And with your immediate support, we can get my strong constitutional conservative message on the airwaves and make sure every voter in the district knows who I am, what I stand for and what I will do when I get to Washington.

So stand with me today and help me deliver a victory for conservative principles.

Semper Fi.

I am never sure what conservative principles mean since no one ever spells them out. For most people it means some version of : Believe in my god and my morality or I will kill you. It means that our military can never be to big since someone somewhere may do something that we do not like, and we should spare no expense to find them and kill them, and not worry about collateral damage.

I do not believe in that kind of conservative. My type of conservative thinks that a military 1/2 of its current size would be more than sufficient, and that the only immoral acts that justify government intervention are the ones clearly involve an act by one or more persons that involve the initiation of force or fraud against another person or group of persons. Consenting adults can do whatever they damn well please and the only exception to this is egregious child abuse. And by child, I mean a out of the womb child. not a fertilized egg.

    So, which “conservative” are you?

I have similar views with the other commenter to this article. I prefer to know the candidates stand of issues of Constitutionality, Freedom, Bill of Rights, and our Immigration problem. I too believe that a smaller military is more than capable of stopping our enemies in their tracks. This is the nuclear age, with many weapons designed specifically for the battle field. Either use them over there, or we will be forced to use them here. Any military conflict lasting more than 30 days is poorly managed, and most likely by Washington. Let’s consider the fact that we have not declared war since December 1941, and waste the lives of our young men fighting Communist battles for the United Nations. Get us the hell out of the United Nations, and allow the Communists to fail on their own.

I don’t know what these other 2 people are eating in their wheaties but Ilario is a wonderful man and would serve us all well! Conservatism in a nutshell since you need it spelled out for you is simple: (1) Smaller government (entitlements gone) and less intrusion into our daily lives, (2) knock-off the wreckless spending and lower taxes, (3) close the borders and secure our nation per one of the federal gov’ts FEW duties. As a side note, we better start to deal with the crazy muslims here in our Country now. We can argue over the other details after we have taken care of the main things that pertain to our very survival and way of life. Kick the commies out of office!!!

The only “religion” (and I’ve studied many of them) I know of that threatens to kill someone for not agreeing with the adherents is that so-called “religion of peace”–islam. (And I’m not capitalizing because I don’t think it warrants that respect.) By contrast, Jesus commanded his disciples to go and spread His word and bring more souls to Him. But unlike the demands of some allah who says bluntly “kill the infidel,” Jesus and His Father gave humans free will to accept the invitation or not. As such, it becomes my duty to offer the good word to others, but if they choose not to accept, that result is on their heads.

So while I may disagree with Doug Nusbaum that it’s okay for consenting adults to do anything (by which I surmise he means guys marry guys and gals, gals) or that we can destroy potential life in an embryo to appease Michael J. Fox (who, I understand, consumes a dozen neurotoxin-laced diet Pepsis a day and has thus poisoned his own body) when the actual science demonstrates greater medical hope from the use of widely available adult stem cells and umbilical cord blood (which resource is routinely discarded by the gallon), I respect Doug’s right to hold his own opinions and I’m not about to attempt or even advocate that anyone kill Doug for daring to hold a divergent view.

I also beg to differ with Doug that “no one ever spells out” the principles by which true conservatives abide. Kristie has done a very good job of it in her message. To this I would add strict adherence to the principles laid out for us in the Constitution. As a true conservative, I pretty much agree with Ron Paul on the issue of military size—which is that it should be way smaller than it is. Holy moly, Doug, you hold a viewpoint in common with one of the most conservative members Congress has! Can you bear that?

Where I would differ with Dr. Paul is that conservatives-in-self-applied-name-only (like the Bushes) have failed to abide by Geo. Washington’s advice in one of his speeches (his farewell after leaving office, I believe—and I won’t threaten to kill anyone who corrects me on this) that the US should be cautious about foreign entanglements. I agree with Dr. Paul that we have bases and footholds in far too many places around the world and with Kristie (I presume) that most of those troops should be brought home and placed on our borders, primarily to the south. But because the RINOs and neocons have gotten us involved in these foreign entanglements, we need to execute our withdrawals with care. As I am not a military expert on strategy, I am forced to leave the methods for that to others who have that expertise.

Meanwhile, as I do not live in Nevada, I can only afford to offer Ilario Pantano my best wishes and prayers for a successful campaign and continue my efforts in my own district—which has been mis-represented for the last 28 years by a quiet invisible libtard whose only claim to fame has been his ability to rubber-stamp every bad piece of legislation that came down the pike—and work to elect a true conservative who holds those values of smaller government, fewer taxes, cutting federal spending, border and national security, and return to Judeo-Christian values in our schools.

The first two comments seem to be from the 80% of the public that don’t bother to get off of their couch and actually go out and see what is really happenning. They prefer to be spoon fed their opinions by the media and party hacks from both parties.

The ads that Harry Reid started the day after the primaries are a good example. Sharron Angle does not want to take social security away. The actual statement which from the Nevada Republican Party Platform is “WE support reform of Social Security, including establishment of personal retirement accounts, prohibiting use of its/their funds for any other purpose. The government must honor its commitments to U.S. Citizens and legal residents who have earned rights to Social Security. ” Why are they getting away with lying about it? Because people just believe what the media delivers to them. So I’m not surprised when I see attacks on Mr.Pantano.

Mr. Pantano spoke at Stoney’s last night, but you probably didn’t bother to go meet or listen to him. I did and I was very impressed. He was very friendly and talked to everyone. His speach was articulate and moving. He is from North Carolinna and we can’t vote for him, so he had nothing to prove to us.To say the least I was very impressed with him.

We have tried to attend every townhall and political event we coudl and it has given us a new perspective on politics, At Harry’s townhall we were asked of we were dissenters to be admitted, I didn’t get in but if you had on a SEIU T-shirt you were welcomed. And I voted for the guy!

Do you know that our military is half the size it was in the 70′s already? That our service people are doing 3 and 4 tours because there isn’t any one else left to send? My son did 3 tours, one in Mosul.

You are right we need to be out the UN and stop being the worlds police, but a strong military is needed to protect us from foreign threats. China has the largest military in the world and is expanding rapidly and they already hold our economy hostage so does it make sense to reduce it even more. I say bring our kids home and enforce border security with them.

With politicians I want them to look me in the eye and tell me the truth. When I ask their opinion I want it, not some pole number or focus group babble. When I ask a yes or no question I deserve a yes or no answer not 10 minutes of BS that I can’t decipher as a yes or no. And above all don’t lie to me.

Right now I can’t get that from any of the elected politicians to federal office from this state. Some of the new candidates seem to be excellent, and I have done my homework and I will give some of them one chance, if they don’t perform they have to go. I will not vote for any of the incumbents.

I woould however vote for Mr. Pantano if I clould.
