(Chuck Muth) – There’s been a lot of criticism leveled against Republican U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle, and much of it has been legitimate. But two lines of attack that popped up again this week are way off base.

The first criticizes Angle for being rated the “worst Assembly member” in two of her four legislative sessions in Carson City, while landing second-worst and third-worst in the other two. Those ratings were based on a “poll” of fellow legislators, members of the media and lobbyists.

Oh, puh-lease. As a conservative who usually voted on bills out of principle, one can easily understand why Democrats would rate her low, as well as unprincipled go-along-to-get-along Republicans who wouldn’t know a conservative principle if it bit them in the butt.

Lobbyists? Are you serious? In order to get a high ranking from lobbyists, you pretty much have to kiss their….er, rings and do what they want you to do, regardless of core beliefs or what your voters want. Being ranked “worst” by lobbyists should earn you a Merit Badge, not criticism.

And is it really all that shocking that a “poll” which included members of the media would show that the Legislature’s most conservative member was judged to be the “worst” member? I mean, come on.

And if you still don’t think there’s an anti-conservative bias in this “poll,” consider the fact that the “worst senator” from the 2009 legislative session was Barbara Cegavske, the most conservative member of the Senate, and the “worst assemblyman” was Ty Cobb, the de facto leader of the seven-member Conservative Caucus during that session.

The second unfair criticism leveled at Angle is for not getting many of her bills passed. And that, too, is bull.

Somehow legislators got it in their heads that to be considered “successful” in Carson City you have to get bills passed. It doesn’t matter if the bills are any good, or relevant or substantive. Just pass….something. Anything. Which is why you have legislators proposing stupid bills such as naming an official state bug or changing the mandatory life-vest age from 12 to 13.

I suspect that Angle’s bills had a lot more meat on the bones, along with a strong conservative flavor. Is it any surprise that such bills were routinely killed by the Democrat majority which ruled the roost during all of Angle’s four terms in office?

The conservative Republicans who elected Angle to represent them for four terms in the Legislature didn’t elect her to pass meaningless bills; they elected her to champion and fight for limited government and lower taxation. To that end, she represented her constituents quite well, thank you very much – despite what liberals, RINOs, lobbyists and members of the media thought.

Chuck: Kudo’s for your analysis of Sharron Angle’s effectiveness in the legislature…She is a conservative who listens to her consituents contray to Harry Reid.
Sometimes doing nothing and opposing expensive and meaningless laws is really doing somthing! Look at the mess created by Obamacare…purposeful or not… its still a mess…J

Between harry reid and dina titus’s lies it’s hard to tell what’s going on anymore. It’s like they have a contest going to see who can pull the biggest lie off. I’m waitin for the dumbass titus to get hit by a slander suit, it will serve her right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we had more people like sharron angle in the nevada legislature we would be better off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She knows where the wasted money is, that’s why the democrats don’t like her, she does her job!!!!!

    Chuck,
you nailed it; as a one of her constituents in South Reno who voted for her twice, she absolutely represented our views, especially when fighting the tax hike. She worked to prevent bad bills from being passed.

though I really wanted her to try to replace the nevada state bug…Reid anyone? :-)

Incidentally, Reid is now running ads that are responding to Angle’s ads blaming Reid for the recession. That shows that Angles ads are having an effect. Up to this point, a lot of the Angle ads have been responses to Reid’s ads on what she said on Social Security and other things.

It’s pretty well known that Reid has a pretty huge war chest to work with. I think his plan is to try to run Angle out of campaign funds by making her respond to lie after lie. It’s good to see her going on the offensive;he probably wasn’t planning for people to know the truth about his political career yet.

Sharron Angel, as a Tea Party candidate, has almost unlimited backing from the petroleum-rich billionaire Koch brothers from Wichita, who are funding the Tea Party (Grassroots – Hah!) movement. Sharron Angle is nuts! There is no other way to describe her. She doesn’t understand the principles of Democracy this country was founded on, she speaks in simplistic generalizations that would endear her to the good-old boys in the local rod and gun club, but tell the rest of us that she isn’t even a lightweight — she’s a no-weight. However the billionaire Koch brothers don’t want to pay a nickel of taxes to anybody for anything, so they’re backing Sharron Angle in the hope that she’s get elected and follows through with some of her idiotic suggestions, or at the very least will cause government to grind to a halt. The two billionaires are trying to thwart the will of the majority of Americans, by throwing money at the Tea Parties. Democracy isn’t supposed to work this way.

Jay, just saying so, doesn’t make it so. Check the finances of each campaign and see who has spent more and who has more cash on hand. Hint: it isn’t Sharron Angle.

Mr. Magoo… what color are the black helicopters in LaLa Land?

  9. Al Hill says:

Magoo is a good name for Jay.
    Blind as a bat!

Waldo my boy, this country is a Republic. I also would prefere not to pay a nickel in taxes, and would not mind becoming a billionair from petroleum. Who is George Soros anyway?
