Hold Off on the “Irrational Exuberance,” However…

(Chuck Muth) – Greetings from overcast and rainy Hawthorne, Nevada!

Laid up last night on the way to a court hearing in Carson City on the voter file clean-up project. Fingers crossed, but I’m less than optimistic.

We’re still in the “learning” stage and the deck’s stacked against us.  We’re gonna need a new deck after the election.

On the other hand, the Dodgers are up 3-0 in the World Series!

Meanwhile, two things get your day started…

First, a reporter with the New York Times is working with the left-wing activists over at Media Matters.

He’s been soliciting comments from various conservative media figures about supposed “election misinformation.”  Tucker Carlson’s text response to the reporter was a beaut…

“Would I like to participate in your attempt to censor me?  No thanks.  But I do hope you’ll quote what I wrote above and also note that I told you to f*ck off, which I am now doing.  Thank you.”

Simple eloquence!

Secondly, while I’m not participating in the “irrational exuberance” of some Republicans over the early voting/mail-in numbers in Nevada, I’d sure rather be where we are right now than where the Dems are.

And if the numbers hold up, it’s quite possible that Democrat Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannibizzaro, Democrat Assembly Speaker Steve Yeager, and Democrat Assembly Majority Leader Sandra Jauregui could all go down in flames.

Of course, all three GOP challengers are still longshots.  The districts favor Democrats.  But if this massive “Do you believe in miracles?” upset actually comes to fruition, Republicans will have one man to thank…

Nevada Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo.

The governor stuck his neck WAY out over a year ago with his political team to recruit, train, manage, and financially support about a dozen GOP legislative candidates in competitive districts.

No other GOP governor in my time has ever taken such a huge political risk and put his money where his mouth was.  But as the great Wayne Gretzky so famously put it: “You miss a hundred percent of the shots you don’t take.”

Gov. Lombardo’s done his part to put Republicans in this position where these GOP candidates have a realistic chance.  The rest is now up to Republican “boots on the ground” to get GOP voters to the polls and cast their ballots.

Remember, Nevada Lt. Gov. Stavros Anthony “lost” a disputed 2020 election for the Clark County commission by just 15 votes out of over 150,000 votes cast.  So, yeah, EVERY vote could matter.

Ignore the tea leaves, no matter how positive they look, and drag every Republican voter you can find to the polls.  There’ll be time enough for countin’ when the dealin’s done.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS

“Nancy Pelosi sent me to a federal prison.  She wanted to break me.  Nancy Pelosi, take out your number two pencil and write this down. We’re gonna deliver a knockout blow to your progressive insanity on November 5th.  And then we’re gonna secure the deal after that. The four months in federal prison not only didn’t break me; it empowered me.  I am more energized and more focused than I’ve ever been in my entire life.” – Steve Bannon
