Lowden: In It to Win It

(Sue Lowden) – I am excited to announce that with your generous support – and from numerous donors across Nevada and our country – my campaign successfully raised more than $800,000 during our very first quarter in our campaign to replace Harry Reid. This is over twice the amount of money Danny Tarkanian raised in the same period of time, and significantly more than he has raised in his combined two quarters of fundraising.

This, coupled with the fact that I am leading in the polls – ahead of Harry Reid by double digits and polling over 50 percent – shows that since entering this race in October 1, 2009, we are off to a great start.

Why is that important? Allow me to explain.

We have all heard the rhetoric from Harry Reid and his political machine. They have stated that we “don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell” in defeating Reid. They said our campaign tour across Nevada was a tour to “fantasyland.” They even threatened to “vaporize” me for having the nerve to run against Harry Reid – “the most powerful Senator” in Nevada history, according to his ads.

Why do they say this? Because Harry Reid says he will have $25 million to use to smear me. So be it. All the name-calling, threats and slick ads aren’t working for Harry Reid – and they won’t work no matter how much money he has.

But – we must remain competitive, and I believe we have proven we can raise the money to win.

My campaign will continue to be about solutions for Nevada. We have offered voters a different path to economic recovery and prosperity. We have offered real health care solutions that won’t bankrupt you, your family or our federal budget. And, we continue to recruit volunteers, Facebook fans and followers and new donors and supporters every day.

We are off to a great start in our second quarter of this campaign, and I need your help now more than ever. If you can, please contribute today so that we can continue to prove that we are the most viable candidate in this race.

I am also pleased to announce that I have pledged to match dollar-for-dollar however much we can raise this quarter. So, for every $500, $250, $100, $50, $25 or even $10 you contribute, I will match it with contribution of the same amount of my own.
We are in it to win it – and to take down the Harry Reid machine, it’s going to take a lot of resources.

Harry Reid is up for a job evaluation. He wants us to rehire him for another 6 years. Your support will help retire Harry Reid for good.
