(John Burke | Better Nevada PAC) – Assemblywoman Daniele Monroe-Moreno isn't just the chair of the Nevada Democrat Party, she's also the chair of the Assembly Ways & Means committee – a job that gave her a front row seat to the corruption that members of her party like Michelle Gorelow engaged in over the last session.
So why, when asked by The Las Vegas Review-Journal if she would support ethics reforms like making the Legislature subject to open meeting law and public records requests, did she refuse to answer?
Perhaps because – as the Review-Journal reported previously – Monroe-Moreno was “instrumental” in the creation of legislation that resulted in numerous lawmakers funneling taxpayer dollars to organizations they had ties to, mostly without disclosing their relationships.
The scandal was so bad that three members of the State Assembly (Bea Duran, Michelle Gorelow, and Cameron “C.H.” Miller) were all forced to announce their departures from office. Monroe-Moreno herself was named among the lawmakers who had ties to an organization that received taxpayer funds.
Since Daniele Monroe-Moreno took over as Chair of the Nevada Democrat Party, her colleagues have been caught engaging in blatant corruption that she herself has participated in. Now she's asking voters to give her a supermajority so they can take total power over Nevada's state government and continue their Culture of Corruption without consequence.
Voters must reject the corrupt politicians and candidates put forward by Monroe-Moreno's party, who would only further enable the Culture of Corruption in our legislature if elected.
