Thirty-year-old Washoe Valley native, Sam England will announce his bid for Assemblyman in District 40 by the end of January.
“After last year’s massive tax hike, it was clear to me that Carson and Washoe Valley residents were misrepresented,” England said, regarding his motivations to run. England chose to run for Assemblyman in AD 40 because he felt that the residents deserved a representative who is not a typical politician, but a fellow resident.
England was born and raised in Washoe Valley, Nevada, where he and his wife recently decided to settle in and raise their three young children. England joined the Nevada National Guard at the age of 17, and from an early age had the desire to serve his state and country. He served tours in Iraq 2006 and in Afghanistan in 2009 as a Sniper Team Leader. Working as a physician assistant at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, England continues to serve his local community. Fresh to the world of politics, England is looking forward to fill a role of defending the constitutional freedoms at home instead of abroad.
England believes that the role of government is to defend the individuals’ rights, and intervene only when they are encroached upon. The goals for England if elected, will be to restore Nevada’s liberties back to the original intent of both the Nevada and United States Constitution.
“We deserve a representative who understands what Carson City and Washoe Valley residents want and I am privileged for the opportunity to be their voice,” England said.
