{"id":46653,"date":"2023-08-24T19:39:05","date_gmt":"2023-08-25T02:39:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nevadanewsandviews.com\/?p=46653"},"modified":"2023-08-26T12:42:29","modified_gmt":"2023-08-26T19:42:29","slug":"about-last-night-gop-prez-debate-observations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/nevadanewsandviews.com\/about-last-night-gop-prez-debate-observations\/","title":{"rendered":"About Last Night: GOP Prez Debate Observations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-42053\" src=\"http:\/\/nevadanewsandviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Muths-Truths-FE.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"520\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"http:\/\/nevadanewsandviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Muths-Truths-FE.png 520w, http:\/\/nevadanewsandviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Muths-Truths-FE-300x194.png 300w, http:\/\/nevadanewsandviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Muths-Truths-FE-95x60.png 95w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 520px) 100vw, 520px\" \/><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>(Chuck Muth)<\/em>\u00a0&#8211; Everyone has their own opinion on who won Wednesday night\u2019s GOP presidential debate.\u00a0 Here\u2019s mine\u2026<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>If the criteria is who advanced their campaign best, I\u2019d say Nikki Haley.\u00a0 If it\u2019s who made the biggest splash, I\u2019d say Vivek (it won\u2019t last).\u00a0 If it\u2019s who won the debate overall, I\u2019d say DeSantis.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Eight presidential candidates on stage was too many.\u00a0 However, I think it identified the one-on-one matchups I\u2019d like to see in separate debates\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DeSantis vs. Pence<\/li>\n<li>Christie vs. Ramaswamy (bring LOTS of popcorn!)<\/li>\n<li>Haley vs. Scott<\/li>\n<li>Hutchinson vs. Burgum (in case you\u2019re having trouble falling asleep)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At this point though, the most interesting one-on-one debate is Trump vs. Trump. He\u2019s singing a lot of different tunes this year from what he sang during his administration.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Final debate observation: What the hell is wrong with FOX News?<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>This was a REPUBLICAN PRIMARY debate.\u00a0 So what was with questions on global warming, homelessness, and UFO\u2019s?\u00a0 Which REPUBLICAN PRIMARY voters say those issues are at the top of their list in deciding who the GOP nominee should be?<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>And not one question on Bidenflation and what the candidates would do to reverse it? THAT question is on EVERYONE\u2019S mind.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>It also would have been far more interesting if FOX had asked each candidate whether they planned on competing in Nevada\u2019s state-mandated primary on February 6 or the Nevada GOP\u2019s competing caucus on February 8 since candidates aren\u2019t allowed to participate in each.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>THAT\u2019S certainly an issue Nevada Republican primary voters are interested in.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/><strong>TURDS in the Punchbowl<\/strong><br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>I shared this earlier today with Muth\u2019s Truths PLUS+ subscribers, but it\u2019s too good not share with everybody\u2026<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>In response to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/citizenoutreach.us12.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=ace05927626f4709ff67049e0&amp;id=73d1d473bd&amp;e=2e6a81701d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\">my column yesterday<\/a>\u00a0pointing out how Nevada legislative Democrats are infected with \u201cTeachers Union Rabies\u201d that cause them to hurt low-income, minority children by cutting funding for their Opportunity Scholarships\u2026<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u2026a very clever reader, who wishes to remain anonymous, pointed out that I should actually name the affliction \u201cTeachers Union Rabies Disease Syndrome\u201d \u2013 otherwise known as TURDS.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>It\u2019s\u00a0<u>PERFECT<\/u>!\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Indeed, while Gov. Lombardo is focused on \u201cgetting sh*t done,\u201d Nevada\u2019s legislative Democrats are full of TURDS.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/><strong>The \u201cOne Buck Chuck\u201d Payoff<\/strong><br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>As noted in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/citizenoutreach.us12.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=ace05927626f4709ff67049e0&amp;id=71cacb002d&amp;e=2e6a81701d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"2\">Tuesday\u2019s Muth\u2019s Truths<\/a>, uni-party critics of Gov. Lombardo \u2013 led by Republican National Committeewoman Sigal Chattah and Democrat Assembly Speaker Steve \u201cDonut Boy\u201d Yeager \u2013 have been falsely accusing the governor of paying me to write good things about him.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>As noted, the governor jokingly made the Chattah-Yeager claims come true at Monday\u2019s \u201cPolitics on the Rocks\u201d event by reaching into his pocket, pulling out a $1 bill, and handing it to me on stage. It was hilarious.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Didn\u2019t have a have a photo of it for Tuesday\u2019s column, but Annie Black sent me this one yesterday\u2026<\/p>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/ace05927626f4709ff67049e0\/images\/ab2d8f94-8b88-eb92-7c6d-1b1188952436.jpg\" width=\"530\" height=\"597\" data-imagetype=\"External\" data-file-id=\"6652132\" \/><\/div>\n<p><br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>The joke got even funnier yesterday at the Keystone lunch.\u00a0 I had two candidates who heard about the governor \u201cpaying me off\u201d for only $1 and kiddingly handed me a buck.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Naturally, I kept the money.\u00a0 Bidenomics is costing me a fortune, especially at the gas pump.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Keep those \u201cOne Buck Chucks\u201d coming!<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/><strong>Campaign Training: Northern Nevada<\/strong><br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>You asked for it, so let\u2019s do it\u2026<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>I\u2019ll be attending the Friends for Life Gala (NVRTLGALA.com) in Reno on Friday, September 8 featuring Seth Dillon of the absolutely hilarious satire website, The Babylon Bee (\u201cFake News You Can Trust\u201d).<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>So let\u2019s see if we can put together and bracket some training workshops outside of Las Vegas that week.\u00a0 If there\u2019s interest, I could tentatively do\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ely on Tuesday, September 5<\/li>\n<li>Elko on Wednesday, September 6<\/li>\n<li>Fallon on Thursday, September 7<\/li>\n<li>A full-day \u201cboot camp\u201d in Reno on Saturday, September 9<\/li>\n<li>Hawthorne on Monday, September 11<\/li>\n<li>Tonopah on Tuesday, September 12<\/li>\n<li>Pahrump on Wednesday, September 13<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The weeknight workshops run about two hours.\u00a0 The topic will be \u201cThe 15 Worst Mistakes of Losing Candidates.\u201d\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>This is obviously important for candidates themselves, but just as important for anyone else involved in politics who might run into a candidate who doesn\u2019t make it to the workshop so you can correct them if they fall into any of these traps.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>The Reno training would be my full-day \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/citizenoutreach.us12.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=ace05927626f4709ff67049e0&amp;id=1ef1e73070&amp;e=2e6a81701d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"3\">Campaign Boot Camp<\/a>\u201d and would run from around 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>I don\u2019t charge anything for my time (though I\u2019m thinking of starting to charge a buck) and my travel expenses are being picked up by Gov.
