(Chuck Muth)<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 On August 14, 2023,\u00a0Sabrina Schnur<\/strong>\u00a0of the Las Vegas Review-Journal\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0that \u201cA bicyclist died after being struck in northwest Las Vegas by a suspected stolen vehicle that was fleeing from another crash Monday morning.\u201d

The victim,\u00a0Andreas Probst<\/strong>, turned out to be a 64-year-old retired cop riding his bike in the bike lane.\u00a0 The driver was arrested later that day.
\u00a0
The RJ did a\u00a0follow-up story<\/a>\u00a0on the hit-and-run on August 18th<\/sup>\u00a0in which Ms. Schnur included reactions from the obviously distraught family.\u00a0 At the time it was still believed the death was due to \u201creckless driving\u201d by the piece of sh*t car thief.

But on August 31st<\/sup>\u00a0\u2013 two weeks after the original story –\u00a0David Wilson<\/strong>\u00a0of the RJ\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0that the \u201cfatal northwest Las Vegas hit-and-run crash was intentional\u201d after \u201cdetectives found a video of the crash posted on social media.\u201d

The graphic video was shot by a piece of sh*t passenger in the car who laughed throughout.\u00a0 His video first captures his accomplice intentionally ramming into another car before running down Mr. Probst.
\u00a0
The driver has not yet been identified since he\u2019s a 17-year-old juvenile piece of sh*t. His piece of sh*t passenger has neither been identified nor caught as of this writing.
\u00a0
I\u2019ve seen the video.\u00a0 It\u2019s absolutely sickening.\u00a0 These two pieces of sh*t should get their day in court and then a quick trip to the gas chamber, a firing squad, or the hangman\u2019s noose.\u00a0

Their lives don\u2019t matter.\u00a0 Mr. Probst\u2019s did.<\/strong>

But here\u2019s the thing\u2026

Again, police investigators did not know of the video until two weeks after the hit-and-run murder. Another two weeks later, the video hit social media.\u00a0

And on Monday,\u00a0Elon Musk<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 owner of Twitter\/X \u2013 tweeted criticism of an RJ headline that characterized the killing as a \u201cbike crash.\u201d

But what Musk and others who jumped on the bandwagon failed to mention was that the headline was from the original story and was accurate since no one had yet seen the video that proved it was no accident.

Musk\u2019s tweet – and those who bit on the false assumption that the headline was from Monday and not over a month ago \u2013 resulted in, as RJ editor\u00a0Glenn Cook<\/strong>\u00a0describes it, \u201ca firehose of hatred<\/a>\u201d being directed at the RJ and Ms. Schnur.

And wouldn\u2019t you know it, one of the irresponsible trolls who blistered the newspaper and Ms. Schnur was Nevada\u2019s own Republican National Committeewoman\u00a0Sigal Chattah<\/strong>.

On Monday, the Mouth that Bored twit-tweeted\u2026

Actually, the paper\u00a0DID<\/u>\u00a0report it accurately\u2026AT THE TIME<\/u>.\u00a0 Before the video was discovered.\u00a0 Chattah just failed to check the date of the story in question, which came out a\u00a0MONTH<\/u>\u00a0before her tweet.

The Chattah Box then doubled-down on Tuesday, twit-tweeting\u2026

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u201cThis wasn\u2019t a \u2018hit and run\u2019 nor was it a \u2018cycling accident\u2019. This was a murder with a hate crime enhancement. More truth- Less bullshit.\u201d<\/em>

Actually, it\u00a0WAS<\/u>\u00a0a hit-and-run.\u00a0 The driver hit Mr. Probst and then took off.\u00a0

And nowhere in any of the RJ\u2019s coverage of the killing have I found any report referring to it as a \u201ccycling accident.\u201d\u00a0 Chattah just made that up.

This deranged, unhinged lunatic isn\u2019t just wrong. She\u2019s stupid.

Anyone even remotely competent in Politics 101 knows one of the Golden Rules is: \u201cDon\u2019t pick a fight with somebody who buys ink by the barrel and paper by the ton.\u201d

Chattah was obviously absent that day.

It\u2019d be one thing if Chattah was right.\u00a0 She\u2019s not.\u00a0

And it\u2019d be another thing if the newspaper in question was a left-wing rag like the New York Times.\u00a0 It isn\u2019t.\u00a0

In fact, the RJ is generally conservative and pro-Republican editorially. So for one of the top three GOP leaders in Nevada to go to war with the state\u2019s largest newspaper over a false narrative isn\u2019t just stupid, it\u2019s galactically stupid.

Chattah owes Ms. Schnur and the RJ an apology.\u00a0 And she should resign immediately before her big mouth does any further damage to the Nevada GOP.\u00a0

The Little Caucus that Shouldn\u2019t<\/strong>

Many of you who have followed the insanity of the Nevada Republican Party\u2019s decision to hold a presidential \u201ccaucus\u201d next February two days after the legislatively required state-run presidential primary have written asking who to contact to voice their opposition.

Giving out the Nevada GOP\u2019s contact info won\u2019t do any good.\u00a0 The party leaders \u2013 wedded to\u00a0Donald Trump<\/strong>\u00a0– are hellbent on holding the caucus no matter how badly it\u2019s going to damage the party.
\u00a0
And you can\u2019t reach out to the individual members of the Nevada GOP\u2019s Central Committee because the party keeps their membership list secret.

But I\u2019ve found the next best thing\u2026

All Republican\u00a0COUNTY<\/u>\u00a0chairmen are also on the\u00a0STATE<\/u>\u00a0Central Committee.\u00a0 So if you want to voice your opposition to the caucus disaster-in-waiting, that\u2019s where best to express your displeasure.
