Hmm, interesting.

Think about what Mr. Johnson is saying here. The budget problem we have today is because we’ve given the government too much money to spend and our unemployment rate is so high because of tax hikes.

And yet….

Mr. Johnson refuses to pledge to the voters of his district and the people of Nevada that he will oppose and vote against any and all efforts to increase taxes if elected. Worse, each time I’ve emailed Mr. Johnson asking him to explain these diametrically opposed positions, he’s refused to answer.

To be fair, his opponent, Pat Hickey, also refuses to swear off government-growing/job-killing tax hikes…but at least Mr. Hickey has been in communication with us and has explained his reasons for not signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.

None of them hold water, by the way, especially for a Republican candidate running is big GOP-majority district. But at least he’s been responsive to legitimate questions.

It’s generally considered that Mr. Hickey is more of a moderate and Johnson is more of a conservative; however, we already have plenty of self-proclaimed conservatives who are scared to take firm positions on issues, especially issues dealing with taxes and spending. Decisions, decisions.
