It wouldn\u2019t be so bad if they didn\u2019t use resources paid for by taxpayers.<\/p>\n<p>Ruben Murillo, Jr., the CCEA president, sent out a flyer via his CCSD e-mail account yesterday afternoon (let\u2019s not even go into why a nonteacher has a school e-mail account).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I ask that you take part in NSEA&#8217;s tele-town hall conference call to learn about the legislative proposals that may negatively impact our working conditions, salary, and benefits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Please post the attached flyer and spread the word to members at your school.<\/p>\n<p>The teleconference is scheduled for the first week of April, which gives these pro-union flyers more than one week of free advertising within the hallowed halls of academia.<\/p>\n<p>Another e-mail went out yesterday afternoon, this one from a Silverado High School teacher asking school district employees to attend a rally on April 5 at the Community College of Southern Nevada. [Note to the teacher: The Community College of Southern Nevada changed its name several years ago. \u2013 Ed.] This teacher was asking for bodies to populate the rally:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Nevada labor unions, community partners, students, and parents are joining together to raise public awareness that the Governor&#8217;s drastic budget cuts will dismantle public education. Some legislators propose to balance the budget by eliminating or altering collective bargaining, workers\u2019 pensions, health benefits, and prevailing wage in a misguided attempt to take away workers&#8217; rights.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Join the \u201cWe are One, Respect Our Rights\u201d action to demand a reasonable solution to the state budget crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Where is the dialogue in this one-sided discourse? Where\u2019s the give and take of ideas? Why don\u2019t we see any e-mails from teachers who want to rally in favor of budget cuts?
