\u201cThat was the sound of another 190,000 Americans falling off the employment rolls. As for Harry Reid, he probably slept soundly,\u201d Angle quipped, \u201cafter an evening of counting imaginary jobs saved or created.\u201d<\/p>\n
Angle said that while the current administration was busy fluffing up the pillows with purported numbers consisting of jobs \u201csaved or created\u201d from the passage of an $787 billion stimulus bill, the real wake-up call was sounded by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) newly released figures listing another 190,000 job losses in October, thrusting the nation\u2019s unemployment figures into double-digit territory at 10.2% and bringing the number of jobs lost during this current administration to 3.8 million. <\/p>\n
\u201cHarry Reid is about 7.8 million jobs short of what his massive deficit-spending stimulus package was pledged to create,\u201d Angle reported. \u201cThat\u2019s a lot of counting at night.\u201d Angle said an even more sobering figure listed by the BLS was the number of Americans who gave up \u201chope\u201d finding a full-time job after becoming discouraged from looking for imaginary jobs not created, a measure which climbed to 17.5% in October. <\/p>\n
Angle said there are real solutions for spurring economic growth and creating real jobs, and emphasized that a cessation in the unrestrained spending binge would be needed to begin restoring consumer and small business confidence. <\/p>\n
\u201cHarry Reid has no idea what makes America work,\u201d said Angle. \u201cWe were told that passage of this massive deficit-spending bill would slam the door on rising unemployment, but it didn\u2019t happen. Manufacturing got slammed. Construction got slammed. Retail got slammed. America got slammed.
