On Sunday, August 10, 2025, Nevada State Parks invites families, friends, and s’more-lovers of all ages to gather at the Pony Bob Haslam Group Use Area at Fort Churchill for a fun and tasty celebration of National S’mores Day.
The event runs from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., just in time to catch a beautiful desert sunset while roasting marshmallows.
Don’t worry about bringing supplies, all the fixings will be provided. Just show up ready to toast a marshmallow and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.
Fort Churchill, a historic Nevada landmark, provides the perfect backdrop for the evening. Located just eight miles south of the Highway 95A/Highway 50 intersection, the site can be found at 10000 Highway 95A in Silver Springs.
The event itself is free to attend, though regular park entrance fees apply: $5.00 per vehicle for Nevada residents, and $10.00 for out-of-state visitors. There is no additional charge for participating in the s’mores program.
This family-friendly evening is a great opportunity to connect with nature, learn a little Nevada history, and share some laughter around the fire with your community. So grab your lawn chairs, flashlights, and sweet tooth, and head to Fort Churchill for a night of nostalgic fun.
