If you’ve ever wondered where the news business is headed – and what that means for Nevada – mark your calendar.
On Tuesday, October 15, 2025, the Nevada Republican Club and the Las Vegas Young Republicans are hosting a special conversation with Glenn Cook, the executive editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The event, titled “The Future of Journalism: A Conversation with Glenn Cook”, runs from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the NRC office, 333 N. Rancho Dr., Las Vegas.
Why It Matters
Cook has been at the center of Nevada’s largest daily newspaper for years, helping steer coverage through a rapidly changing media landscape.
From the decline of print circulation to the explosion of online platforms and social media, journalism today looks very different than it did even a decade ago.
With trust in the press at historic lows, the conversation will likely touch on how local journalism can regain credibility, adapt to new technology, and continue playing a watchdog role in Nevada politics and government.
An Intimate Roundtable
Organizers say this isn’t just a boring speech.
Instead, it will be a more personal, small-group discussion where attendees can ask questions and share their perspectives.
“Glenn Cook, the Executive Editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, will join us for an intimate roundtable about the future of journalism,” wrote NRC organizer Pauline Ng Lee in her invitation email. “Hope to see many of you there!”
