A LITTLE CATCHING UP…
Whew, still trying to get caught up after our big 2017 Conservative Leadership Conference. Finally coming up for a little air…
Many of you who couldn’t attend CLC this year asked if videos of the conference speakers’ presentations would be made available. The good news is…yes.
The bad news is, while I received the videos last night I still need to figure out how to post them on our new YouTube channel. But everything should be ready in the next couple of days. Stand by.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump came to Las Vegas on Wednesday to visit with victims of Sunday night’s deadly shooting incident at the Route 91 Harvest concert on the Strip, as well as law enforcement officers and medical personnel who responded to the tragedy.
If you haven’t seen it yet, catch this video of a man who was shot in the leg insisting on standing up to great the President, declaring, “I will never lie down when the President of this great country comes to shake my hand!”
And in case you missed my column outlining my “dream” for how Las Vegas should respond to the Mandalay Bay Massacre – including my warning to “nice Mormon folks” to plug their ears – it was published yesterday in the Daily Caller. You can click here to read and share it.
As many of you may have read, Las Vegas businessman and philanthropist Billy Walters donated a cool half-million dollars to the victim relief fund for folks involved in the shooting. VERY generous.
What you may not know is that the government has ordered Walters to prison next week for a severely tainted “insider trading” conviction last spring before he’s even had a chance to file an appeal. This, just two weeks after “alleged” murderer O.J. Simpson was let OUT of prison!
The bottom line is that one or more FBI agents and/or Department of Justice investigators broke the law by leaking secret, grand jury information to the media which resulted in a highly disgraced witness changing his story. It’s truly outrageous. Sickening even. Click here to read all about it.
In other news, The Hill published a column I wrote explaining how Wells Fargo bank is screwing its customers by blocking their 7th Amendment constitutional right to sue when the bank does something wrong. A good primer if you’re not yet familiar with this issue.
And as a follow-up, the CEO of Wells Fargo Bank testified before a Senate committee this week and jerked around committee members over the bank’s “forced arbitration” policy. Read more about it by clicking here.
On a completely separate issue, the Des Moines Register published a column I wrote on Big Pharma’s sneaky and unlawful efforts to block generic drug companies from bringing to market less expensive alternatives to their high-priced, brand-name drugs. You can read it by clicking here.
So while I haven’t been as regular with the e-newsletters for the last few weeks, it’s not like I’ve been letting moss grow under my feet.
And with that said, I’m outta here again. Gia and I are driving up to Carson City tomorrow to celebrate our friend Dennis Hof’s birthday at his big annual birthday bash this weekend at the Bunny Ranch Brothel! Hope you have a great weekend, too.
FAMOUS LAST WORDS
