There’s a very interesting development in Nevada’s three competitive congressional races in 2026 and maybe – just maybe – we’ll finally overcome the Democrats’ gerrymandering of the districts and see one or more of them flip from “blue” to “red.”
The “Larry, Moe & Curly” incumbents are Democrat Reps. Dina Titus (egghead professor in CD1), Steven Horsford (race hustler in CD4), and Susie Lee (bored housewife in CD3).
All three suffer severe cases of TDS – Trump Derangement Syndrome.
And while filing for office doesn’t open in Nevada until next March, several GOP candidates have already announced their intent to run – and others are likely to throw their hats in the ring before all is said and done.
But three of them – one for each district – appear to be head-and-shoulders above the rest with a common trait: they all are or have been wildly successful in private sector businesses.
I’ll start with Marty O’Donnell in Congressional District 3 against Susie Q.
Marty ran for the same seat in 2024. But he entered the race late and didn’t get out of the primary. He’s not making the same mistake again.
Marty is a veteran video game music composer, known for his work with Bungie on titles like Halo and Destiny. He’s also been a small business owner in music and audio production.
Then there’s Cody Whipple in Congressional District 4 against Steve-O.
Cody is a fourth-generation Nevadan and small business owner. He has a background in managing a family cattle ranch and building a successful digital two-way communication network serving first responders and businesses in multiple states.
And lastly, there’s Bobby Khan in Congressional District 1 against Dina Tax-Us.
Bobby is a former celebrity car dealer who built a multi-million-dollar exotic car business selling high-end vehicles to celebrities, athletes, and global elites. And he has an extremely interesting story about his legal fight with the Department of Justice under Obama.
It’s too early to declare each the “front-runner” in their races, but if they put together solid campaigns and get their messaging right, I could see all three emerging from next June’s primary races and move on to the general.
And the contrast between these successful Three Musketeers and the incumbent Three Stooges will be stark and easily discerned by voters.
I’d be thrilled if we flipped even one of those seats after so many disappointments in recent election cycles. But with these three on the general election ballot, I wouldn’t be shocked if the GOP sweeps.
But first, they’ll all have to get out of their primaries.
Indeed, I’m reliably told that Nevada State Sen. Carrie Buck (R-Clark) intends to announce her candidacy for CD1 next Tuesday in Henderson.
She’ll likely have the backing of the DC and Nevada “establishment,” but she has a very spotty voting record on a variety of issues of strong concern among conservatives. So winning the primary against Khan will be no slam dunk.
Buckle up, gang. It’s gonna be an interesting ride.
