(Jarrod Agen) – On the stump this week in Reno, Vice President Joe Biden belted out this sound bite: “This ain’t your father’s Republican Party.”
An odd line, considering Joe said it at the University of Nevada, Reno – where many of the college students’ fathers probably did vote for Sharron Angle at one point in their life.
But the line may be more appropriate directed back at Harry, Joe, and Barack.
Based on fundraising, early voting, and messaging – the Majority Leader, the Vice President, and the President, are just not the forces they used to be back in the day….
Early Voting:
In a week, when the Majority Leader brought BOTH the Vice President and the President of the United States to his state to help motivate the base – Republicans are still outperforming the Democrats at the polls.
No bounce from the two highest elected officials in the land.
Fundraising:
For all of Harry’s supposed clout, he is getting ridiculously trounced in fundraising.
In the Pre-General FEC reports (which track fundraising from October 1 – October 13), we reported raising $3.5 million. Harry raised just $600k.
That means, in the third quarter, we raised seven times the amount Harry did ($14 million vs $2 million) and in the first two weeks of October, we raised about six times the amount Harry did ($3.5 million vs $600k).
It’s a sign that not only is he unliked, but Harry’s backers realize that he is going to lose.
Messaging:
Harry Reid has changed from Majority Leader to attack dog over the past week. Harry throws around every insulting name, personal attack, and wild accusation that he can think of now that he is just days away from defeat.
The ramblings of this desperate man are unbecoming of the U.S. Senate’s Majority Leader The lower Harry stoops, he becomes even more of an embarrassment to the office he holds.
