Absolutely, very much looking forward to having you represent us in the ninth assembly district starting in January after your election in November. We're very, very hopeful and optimistic about it. A lot of things to talk about, and so let's start out with with this first of all. You wrote a column recently about the ACDA. the commercial driver's licenses that people are talking about, and the problem is with with those CDLs, they're often being given to people who are have been illegal aliens, shouldn't be here in the first place, and they're given these commercial railways, and and some of these folks, one don't speak English, and they don't understand our road signs, and some of the accidents that have occurred on the roadways that have taken a number of innocent American lives have been at the hands of some of these illegal alien CDL drivers who have been under the influence of either alcohol and or drugs, and people are going. Well, what can we do about it? What can we do about it? If you become the next assemblywoman from 89, what would you be able to do about something like this?

Well, number one, we would do. We would we would require a citizen to take the test. Number one, verify when they came into the country, if they have an active visa, things like that, and if there is any record of them when they entered. There's many things that we can do. Be working with law enforcement and ICE to see to keep our streets safe in our communities.

I mean, let me ask you something else, and this is a radical idea. But I've got to ask you this. I mean, first of all, these folks should not be on the on the roadways at all, and there's nothing you can do really about as being an assemblywoman about what goes on in California for California roadways, but we can do things about what goes on here on the roadways here, and and I I would like to be able to say that I mean if we stop someone who is a a an illegal alien who has a commercial driver's license, I mean those people ought to be jailed immediately, and I mean, the the governor of our state should be sending some kind of a of a letter of upset to the governor of California or whatever other state they were licensed in.

Absolutely, and well, the good news is that the secretary of Transportation is looking into this and looking into the cases and doing an investigation in California. So we know he, the driver that just killed Brenda Brenda Watson in Ohio, is under investigation. The young lady was 50 years old, and she was on U.S. 68, but the guy Mangine got obtained his driver's license, commercial driver's license in California. So good news: there is an investigation going, not just against the gentleman driving, but California, if they were properly vetted, if they were properly trained, if the classes taken and the training taken for this vehicle, the semi vehicle, over 80,000 pounds that he was operating and killed this woman.

Amazing, just amazing stuff. You talk about all this stuff. Your opponent in this race is a a former heroin addict, and that's about all that he's been talking about. I know some of his supporters. I talked to some people the other day. One organization that was supporting him, and they referred him as a a reformed drug substance abuser or something like that. I don't know what euphemism they use, but I mean, the guy was was a junkie, and I mean, a big time one. And that's that's about all he's running on right now. What what kind of a campaign is that?

Listen, we're very happy that. He's cleaned up. The one thing he's missing that is not telling the public is that he's recovered and fall, recovered and fall five times. I think it's very important for the voters to know that how many times he failed. We're happy that he's gotten clean and that he's staying clean. But Carson City is a is a city. It's it's a place of a lot of stress, and voters need to know if if he's going to relapse one more time. But we are very happy that he has gotten the help and has gotten clean. But we would like for him to be honest about how many times has he recovered and fallen back.

But he's got no background. I mean, aside from the fact that he was a drug addict, and he's overcome it five or six times. I mean, he's got no background to be a a state legislator, and I I just don't understand what kind of a campaign he's running. And I I mean, I've talked to a lot of people, and like they're they're all supporting Erica Neely for 9. Trust me, but I just I just had to bring that up because I'm just amazed that somebody would jump into the race when they've got absolutely no qualifications. I mean, even some of the libs on the left have some qualifications, but he's got none whatsoever. So I just had to bring that. Go ahead.

I was going to say I'm worried too. He just moved into the district less than a year. So, as a parent, as a citizen, as someone that has invested in District Nine, I purchased my home, I raised my kids here, and married my husband. How will he represent if he just moved into the district? To me, is very worrisome that he hasn't been living here, and now he wants to represent the host, the whole Assembly District Nine. So he has a lot of questions to ask. Yeah,

yeah, yeah. We've been here for for over 23 years in this district. So you know, I understand what's going on here, and I know you do too. And that's why it's important to get you in there to represent us. Stay with me because I want to talk about the issue of water. It's not as boring as people may think because without water you don't have growth, and without growth you're going to wind up with with prices of housing skyrocketing and a lot of other problems that go along with that as well. No growth is not good. Erica Neely joining us, founder of the Hispanic Latin Alliance, also a writer with the Nevada News and Views, and a candidate for the Ninth Assembly District. Erica Neely joining us on behalf of Nevada News and Views Friday this week, and of course talking about her candidacy for the ninth assembly district, my district, and she will make a great assembly representative for us in the ninth come January. Quickly, the one of the biggest issues, of course, is water, and people want to know what can be done about that. What have you been able to discern, looking at the issue that we could do to be able to mitigate the issue of a lack of water?

So Nevada has been actually doing great with conserving water. We have been very disciplined. The problem is that the contract that we signed in 1922, where it distributes water between seven states, and so we get the less portion of those states, and we have been able to be disciplined and conserve the best, we actually are showing how to conserve water responsibly. Other states have not done that, like California, and in not doing the proper responsibility of conserving water, they're taking the majority, and we're getting punished punished for it from the federal government. We are being asked to conserve even more for the 27-28 year,

and we're the ones who have really cut back on the use of water more than proportionately than any other state in the pack.

That's right, that's right, and we are actually the city that has grown population even faster than any other, so the numbers don't don't add up, and it's coming from the federal government.

Yeah, we've got to get them aware of what's going on here, and I don't think they are as much. There are other things that we can do, and I've talked before about the idea of us helping to create desalinization plants off the state of California, if they had a governor that would allow that, or Mexico, and then trading that percentage of the water that they would use for their local community for what they're getting at the Colorado River. So I mean, there. Are ways that things can be done. Some of them may be a little bit costly, but water is available if we are creative enough to think of ways to be able to get it. But we just can't say no, and we can't allow the federal government to to just to knock us out of the game. This is not not right at all, and we've got to get. Hopefully, our governor will get in touch with the the people in D.C. and say, “Hey, you guys have rethink something like this. If people want to find out more about your campaign, how can they do

it? Well, they could go to Neely for Nevada, N E E L Y for Nevada. Also, we're hosting an event on Saturday. It's a big chase walk with the governor at the governor's office. It's located down on Sahara, next to Charlie's on Sahara, and it is from 10 to one. And the governor will be there, and we would have volunteers, refreshments, and just be mobilized in the community in District Nine. So they could come and visit us on Saturday the 19th at the Sahara office at the Lombardo office next to Charlie's.
