Can’t Vote for Flippo? Here’s the Conservative Alternative

Lynn Chapman Is Major Wild Card in Northern Nevada House Race

Dave Flippo is the Republican nominee for Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District after his scorched-earth disinformation campaign against highly-regarded former State Sen. James Settelmeyer in last month’s GOP primary.

And a lot of northern Nevada Republicans still can’t bring themselves to rally ‘round the southern Nevada carpet-bagger.

So much so that there’s talk of some forming a “Republicans for TBT” coalition in support of the Democrat nominee, Teresa Benitez-Thompson.

Don’t do it.

Just look at what “Republicans for Reid” did in the 2010 U.S. Senate race.

Or what the Tarkanians did in supporting A-ron Ford for attorney general and Zach Conine for treasurer in 2022.

There’s a better alternative for conservatives who can’t bring themselves to hold their nose and pull the lever for Flippo.

Independent American Party (IAP) candidate Lynn Chapman.

The IAP is philosophically more consistently conservative than the GOP.

Republicans supporting the Democrat in this race will get themselves labeled as “traitors.”

Republicans supporting Chapman will be taking a principled stand.

They’d also be drawing a line and letting the political consulting class know that “anything goes” cheap shots in a GOP primary will not be rewarded.

Can Chapman win the seat?

Not without divine intervention.

Could she pull enough votes from Flippo to cost him the seat?

Quite possibly. But no more so than Republicans voting for TBT.

At least with Chapman you’ll be voting for a conservative – and a legislatively experienced conservative at that.

And I’ll add this…

Republican voters are NOT obligated to vote for the GOP nominee. In reality, it’s up to the GOP nominee to EARN the votes of Republican voters.

And based on a new poll out yesterday showing Flippo trailing TBT by two points, he hasn’t secured and consolidated his base yet.

If you’ve never heard of Chapman before, you will now. Here’s a side-by-side comparison the IAP published today:

I’m not making any endorsement or recommendation for this race…yet. There’s a long way to go until the November election.

But if the election were held today, I’d cast my ballot for Lynn Chapman.

I’ll take the real deal with a long record of conservative activism and leadership over a talking points poser with zero conservative street cred other than being a self-serving perennial candidate any day ending in “y.”

And if that gets my GOP membership card revoked, so be it.
