Alan Stock talks with Jill Douglass, Chairwoman of the Clark County Republican Party, about her recent piece on Rep. Dina Titus and a sick senior pushed aside at an overcrowded clinic, and why facts mattered less than politics in Titus’ response. The conversation also turns to President Trump’s decision to pause immigration from 19 high-risk countries, and why public safety has to come first.

Today is news and views. Thursday, if you want to find out more about a great website that will give you information that you need to know, locally, statewide and nationally, go to news and views.com News and views.com Chuck has put together a great resource for news, and one of the folks who writes regularly for him is Jill Douglas, Chairwoman of the Clark County Republican Party, and she happens to be joining us right now. Jill, how you doing? I’m doing great. How about you? Thanks for having me this morning. I appreciate your coming on. It’s, it’s a true news and views Thursday here at KX NT. I want to talk a little bit about a you wrote a couple of great articles. You had a lot of great articles, but a couple I do want to focus on. And one is on the the Queen Dina Titus. She’s entitled. That’s why I say that to everything, right? Anything about her. We could, I can tell you stories. I’m sure you could tell me stories too. But the problem is, when people talk about issues and they want to even get their point across, even in debates, sometimes they either make things up or they ignore facts. And in this case, when it came to about a one particular sick senior, it turns out that Dina Titus just wanted to ignore reality and facts and just get into her own world. Tell us about this, because I think this really tells folks who Dina Titus is.Jill Douglass 1:33
Well, she certainly lacks any sympathy or empathy for for Americans and the situations that have been caused by services that are over tasked. And so, you know, she had this individual who called in and he’s really sick, and he’s trying to get help, and he’s on Medicare, and he goes to a clinic, and he can’t even get to the counter because the place is so packed with illegal immigrants that are going in and out, and he basically is pushed aside. He’s ignored, he’s delayed. And all the while this is happening, his condition is getting worse, and he ends up in the hospital, and he’s calling her, and he’s saying, you know, we have a serious problem here, that these illegal immigrants are crushing our health care systems, and they’re crowding in our clinics and are costing dangerous delays. And she, she doesn’t, she doesn’t. She has no concern for his medical condition. She doesn’t ask what the clinic was. She doesn’t ask how she can help. She goes right into, you know, Trump arrangement syndrome, and just says, well, immigrants don’t qualify for Medicare. Well, he wasn’t even talking about that. He’s talking about how illegals are overcrowding and overtaking an already burdened healthcare system.

Alan Stock 3:00
Very much so. And by the way, in this particular story, this guy’s wound up with heart failure in the hospital, and the clinic had known about his kidney and heart problems for over a year, never told him they were too busy, because they had, it was a crowded clinic. They had, they had a lot of illegals coming in, and it is true that illegals do not get Medicare directly, but that’s not what he was talking about, and that’s not what this whole thing was about. I mean, she was, he was talking about this, and she was saying, Well, you know, the moon isn’t made out of green cheese. And he’s going, well, that’s got nothing to do with the price of tea in China. You know, that’s right.

Jill Douglass 3:43
So, I mean, never, he never said illegal immigrants were actually collecting Medicare. He said they were clogging the system. He they were clogging the clinic where he gets care. And, you know, I mean, you know, one could also make the argument that they’re there, they’re receiving care, but, but she, she showed no concern whatsoever about, you know, the burden to the medical systems. When clinics are overrun with illegals who are burdening the system. They have to be processed, or they are they are taking up space. They are there. And then Americans who come in for help can’t even get help, see

Alan Stock 4:34
and there are people who are going to listen to you and say that you have no compassion for the illegal aliens who get sick. But on the other hand, the problem is, is that these folks, all of them, whether they’re hardened criminals or whether they’re not, and they and they just wanted to come and make a buck and go back home again, I mean, but they came here illegally. They broke the law. They didn’t do it right. And a lot of people said, well. You know over the years, and it’s true, they can get medical attention by going to these emergency clinics and emergency in the hospitals. But again, what does that do while they get treatment? It clogs up the system, and once again, they have come here illegally. So we have not planned to have all these people rush our system and and to blame the system or to blame Trump or anything like that, is insane, when, in fact, it’s the former administration that invited these people with open arms to come in. You remember when they the day that Biden took office and they came across the border with what T shirts that read, thank you. Biden Harris, remember that 1000s of them now. Where did they get pre made shirts the day that he took office? I mean, you know.

Jill Douglass 5:54
And here’s the thing,

Alan Stock 5:59
Hello? You cut out.

Jill Douglass 6:02
Can you hear me? Can you hear me?

Alan Stock 6:04
Yeah

Jill Douglass 6:05
Okay, okay, just because something’s illegal doesn’t stop it from happening. A lot of things are illegal, right? Legal? Crossing the board order is illegal. Talk about compassion. Let me say I lived for four years in Canada, and you know, fortunately, we were there on a military assignment, so there was an agreement between the US government and the Canadian government to pay for our health care. But if I had just walked into a health clinic in Canada, they would have said, Where is your Canadian health insurance card? And if you didn’t have that, you would have been turned around and told to leave.Alan Stock 6:46
Yeah, we’re the ones who are, you know, as they call the US uncle, sucker, and that’s what’s been going on for some time. And here’s the thing, I’m up against the clock, but Dena Titus has been backing all of this, and her thing was to focus on, you know, illegal aliens don’t get Medicare, no. But meanwhile, the you back them being here, you back them getting all the services that they would demand to get. And also you’re not for fixing any of the problems that go on here. She has just done an abysmal job, and this is only one of many things that we could talk about her I could tell you other stories. Oh, man, for her, unbelievable, but we’ll do that for another day. Stay with me, though, because I do want to talk about the fact that the President and the federal government has paused immigration from 19 countries, and I want to talk about that as well. We’ve got Jill Douglas joining us, Chairwoman of the Clark County Republican Party, and we’ll continue in just a moment, right here on Vegas at eight and a good morning. I want to remind everyone real quickly, we’re talking about Dena Titus during the last segment. And Dena Titus, one of our congressional representatives here in Nevada voted to shut the government down and deprive people of their legitimate income to live and feed their family and pay their mortgages or rent and everything else. She voted to shut the government down. She didn’t care how it hurt anybody. And by the way, FYI, don’t tell anybody this. She got paid the whole time. She got paid the whole time. Okay, didn’t hurt her, but, but she screwed the people who are in her district anyway, period. And I don’t care how you twist it, that’s what she did. She screwed the people in her district while she was having getting a free free ride and a free lunch. That’s right, we’ve got to remember that quickly. You wrote also about the federal government pausing new immigration applications from 19 high risk countries. Now, some people will again say, oh, it’s racist, because a lot of these are mostly Muslim and African nations. But wait a minute. Wait a minute. These are the nations that have long records of security problems.

Jill Douglass 9:05
That’s right. Look, what is the President of the United States responsible for? You know, he is responsible for the safety of the American people. He’s responsible for ensuring that we have secure borders. And if you, if you have the data, the Intel, you can tell where people are coming from and and the individuals that are when they come here, they are causing harm to the American people. I applaud him for stepping up and saying, I have to protect Americans. I have to keep them safe. This is, this is what we elected him to do if you don’t care about your own citizens more than citizens of another country, something would be seriously long, you know, and if there are people who are coming here with one for one reason, and that reason is to cause us harm. So I applaud him for being willing. To stand tall and saying, No, I have to protect the citizens of the United States of America. That’s what they elected me to do, and I am not going to let people come into our country and, you know, commit crimes, murders, rapes, you know, blow up things, just it, just all these, these shootings, these things that are happening. We those people should not be allowed. And it’s not a it’s not anything more than what did the statistics and the data show us, what countries are causing the issues, and so he’s doing right by making that call,

Alan Stock 10:40
I would, I would ask people who oppose this and say that it’s racist and all the other discriminatory I would say to them, okay, so what would you do? I mean, that’s what I would say back. What would you do? You have 19 countries, 19 countries that have been shown to be high risk countries. They’re not vetted in their own countries, and they were been poorly vetted here during the Biden administration. They’re coming in and proportionately speaking, proportionately speaking, there are more people that are committing crimes through these 19 countries. When they come here the whether they’re legal or illegal, they come proportionately committing these crimes. What would you do about it? I mean, that’s what I would say to people. Would you continue to allow people from this country to come in when they’re not being vetted properly from their own country? I mean, you know? I mean, it doesn’t make any sense at all. If you know there’s a neighborhood in your community that has a lot of shootings on the weekends, like happens in Chicago, and you know that that’s a neighborhood that they’re always shooting, and there are people getting killed every weekend, not some, but every single solitary weekend. Would you hesitate to have your kids go play in that neighborhood on the weekend at night? I mean, I mean, common sense tells you, you know, you’ve got to use your brains, and that’s what the President is doing. The first rule of government is to protect the people. Everything else doesn’t matter. You can feed the you can all the free food, all the free education, anything you want. But if the people are dead, it doesn’t matter, right?

Jill Douglass 12:18
Right? Absolutely. And you know, I would also say to these same people, you know, do you lock your doors at night? Or if you came home and someone had busted your door down and they were in your house, you would say, you would say they were there illegally. You would call the police. You would want something to happen. You’d want them to be arrested. You want them to be removed. It’s really no different, no, our health illegally, 100 100% correct.

Alan Stock 12:47
And again, anyone who disagrees can write to me@alex.com and tell me what you would do then to protect our country, if not keep

Jill Douglass 12:55
you know Alan, the thing is, you’re you’re right that they want to portray us as, as not caring when it’s with it entirely. That’s that is not the scenario to all. We care greatly. We care greatly, and we want individuals to be safe. You know, we want our children on college campuses to be safe. We want, we want safety in our neighborhood.

Alan Stock 13:20
And that’s number one, and that’s what the President’s number one attitude as well. I’m up against the clock and I’ve got to run. But Jill, Douglas, Chairwoman of the Clark County Republican Party, great having you with me this morning. Thanks so much for being with me. Final, find out more about Nevada news and views.
