(Angle for Senate campaign) – Sharron Angle (R-NV), a former Nevada State Legislator who currently leads Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) by double-digits for the U.S. Senate seat in Nevada, returned home on Sunday after securing key endorsements in Washington D.C.
Following endorsements earlier this month from Phyllis Schlafly of Eagle Forum PAC and Gun Owners of America Political Victory Fund, Angle was suddenly beckoned to the National Press Club in Washington D.C. to accept another major endorsement on Thursday from Tea Party Express, recognized as one of the most prominent Tea Party-affiliated national advocacy groups.
Mark Williams, Chairman of the Tea Party Express, said that importance of this election meant more than just seeing Reid removed. “We've already spent more in the campaign to defeat Harry Reid than just about any other group out there in this election cycle. But this campaign isn't just about who we are opposed to; it's also about who we support.”
Bryan Shroyer, Political Director for the Tea Party Express, said that Angle is a hero for conservatives and the tea party movement. “There is no candidate who can match her record of principled conservatism.”
Joe Wierzbicki of the Tea Party Express said that Angle's victory would be a top priority for support in the primaries in the 2010 elections.
The next day, Angle received another key endorsement from national talk show host Mark Levin during his syndicated show with a listening audience reaching millions.
“I want to come out today and give you my full fledged endorsement for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate in Nevada,” said Levin, a best-selling conservative author and constitutional lawyer who served as a top advisor to the Reagan administration. “You are the more conservative candidate,” he revealed to Angle during the interview.
Angle spokesman Jerry Stacy said the recent endorsements have already been a huge boost for Angle’s campaign, and signaled that additional endorsements from a broad-base of conservative organizations were forthcoming. “The race to unseat the Majority Leader consisted of a large field, but the homework is being completed and Mrs. Angle is coming out on top each time.”
Other current endorsements already lined up behind Angle include Republican Majority Campaign PAC, Citizens United Political Victory Fund, GING PAC, Life and Liberty PAC, Declaration Alliance PAC, Nevada Home School Network, and Family PAC Federal.
