Another Day, Another Harry Reid Press Release From The Sun

Another Day, Another Harry Reid Press Release From The Sun

(Mike Chamberlain/The Cranky Hermit) – Today’s offering from the Harry Reid/Barack Obama communication department the Las Vegas Sun blames Republicans for opposing efforts to create jobs. The Sun implores the GOP to get behind Democrat-led legislation to spend massive amounts of taxpayer money to repair the nation’s crumbling infrastructure.

Wait a minute, I thought that was what the original stimulus plan, two years ago, was supposed to do. At least, that’s what they told us they were going to do when they were selling it.

Turns out, it saved a whole bunch of government jobs at the expense of private sector jobs. Well, this time they really, really , REALLY mean it. Promise.

And the infrastructure projects they did build weren’t really infrastructure projects at all. While bridges and roads were supposedly crumbling, endangering public safety, Nevada spent a bunch of stimulus money on things like landscaping freeway medians, building bus shelters and replacing asphalt bus stops with concrete. All the better to be able to lobby for even more dough in the future to fix the real stuff.

No matter how much money is borrowed and spent by the government to create jobs that never seem to materialize, the Sun will always try to convince you it’s not enough. The answer is always more government and more government spending.

And don’t you dare try to suggest that the guy making $88,000 to sweep the floors or the plumber making $115,000 on those projects are being paid too much. Heaven forbid we cut those wages in half and provide two jobs instead of one. Or build more projects! Or spend less! Naw, that’s just silly talk, because paying people more money to produce the same output is how to stimulate the economy.

Just remember, no matter how much money the Democrats spend and how few new jobs and economic development are created as a result, the Sun can always blame the Republicans.
