Bunce: We can do better

Bunce: We can do better
N&V Staff
August 31, 2015

Richard Bunce(Richard Bunce) – Our businesses are constantly dealing with every roadblock to growth and even existence imaginable, from new regulations, new rules, new fees and new taxes. Though this session may have broken the back of our businesses, growing government by nearly 20% and creating the worst tax this states has every seen, a tax will hit you whether you are making profits or not.

I believe we can do better.

In order for Nevada to once again be the bastion of business start-ups and economic growth, we must have new leadership and new representatives. Representatives who understand where the jobs come from and when businesses have more capital in reserve that will result in expanding and creating new jobs. Those who understand that when the government removes capital from the economy through taxation, it is removing jobs from the economy.

At a closer inspection of this new tax, we see just how insidious the commerce tax is. It is designed to be used to split every industry in the state against each other to fight over their rate. So, if one industry gives a little bit more in donations than another industry, that industry’s rate will go down and the other will go up the next session. This tax at it’s heart is pure cronyism and built to split the business community.

Even after raising our taxes 1.4 billion dollars, the jackals aren’t done. There are whispers of raising it, yet another billion next session by lowering the 4 million dollar floor of the commerce tax to 1 million or lower. Further moving more of our money into the hands of the bureaucrats and their cronies.

I make the promise that if you stand with me this election, I will stand with the taxpayer and fight to repeal the commerce tax and reduce the burden on the taxpayers.

That together, we will do better.
