(Charli Carter) – Ever feel like politics today is just people yelling at each other and getting nowhere? Like you can’t have a real conversation if someone disagrees with you?
Well, here’s some good news: it doesn’t have to be that way.
On Thursday, April 24, the Spring Mountain Republican Women Club is hosting a special event that proves folks from opposite sides of the aisle can talk — and even become friends.
It’s called “Inside the War Room: How Campaigns are Won and Lost,” featuring Chuck Muth and Ronni Council — two political consultants who were often opponents in campaigns but found they could work together and even enjoy it.
Republican Meets Democrat — and They Actually Get Along
Chuck Muth is a well-known conservative in Nevada. He runs Citizen Outreach, publishes Nevada News & Views, and is a former Clark County Republican Party Chair. He’s been in the trenches for years, helping Republican candidates run better campaigns.
Ronni Council, on the other hand, used to be a big deal in the Democratic Party. She’s a former president of Emerge Nevada and the Women’s Democratic Club, and even served as Vice Chair of the Clark County Democratic Party.
So why don’t they hate each other? That’s what they’ll talk about at the event.
Chuck and Ronni are living proof that people can disagree politically and still be civil, respectful, and even friendly.
Why This Matters
Politics these days often feels like a bad Thanksgiving dinner — people yelling, storming off, and cutting off family members over who they vote for.
A recent 2023 Pew Research study found that about 60% of Americans say politics has hurt their relationships with friends and family. That’s sad — and frankly, it’s not how it should be.
Chuck and Ronni are showing a better way. You can disagree, even strongly, and still sit down at the same table, swap stories, and work on real problems.
This isn’t about giving up your values. It’s about having the kind of conversations that actually move things forward — like how to win elections, how to reach voters, and how to run smarter campaigns.
What You’ll Learn
At this event, you’ll hear real behind-the-scenes stories from two folks who’ve been in the campaign “war rooms.” They’ll talk about what works, what doesn’t, and what surprises them the most about voters today.
Want to know why some campaigns fail — even when the candidate seems perfect?
Or how to handle “dirty tricks” without getting dirty yourself?
Or how to talk to voters who don’t already agree with you?
Chuck and Ronni will share all that and more — from both sides of the political battlefield.

Bottom Line
If you’re tired of the shouting and name-calling in politics and want to learn how campaigns really work — from people who’ve been there — this event is for you.
Come for the lunch, stay for the wisdom. And leave feeling like maybe, just maybe, we don’t have to hate each other just because we vote differently.
Let’s bring back civil conversations — one campaign story at a time.
