Dina Titus is Silent and Wrong on National Security

(Heck for Congress Campaign) – Henderson – Dina Titus is wanting to sound tough on National Defense. Unfortunately her record shows gaping holes of silence when leadership was needed and a rush to political expediency whenever possible.

Two weeks ago, Titus was on an emergency conference call regarding the thwarted airport attack yet waited a full twelve days to weigh in (Dina Titus slams homeland security chief over ‘blunder’, Las Vegas Sun, 1-6-09). National Security decisions require timely action, attention to detail and a commitment to protect the people of America. Dina Titus is focused far more on protecting her own political future.

When General Stanley McChrystal asked for more troops in Afghanistan, Titus was silent (Obama’s Afghanistan plan draws little support from Titus,Berkley, Las Vegas Sun, 12-6-09).

When a Christmas Day terror attack slipped through the cracks of our homeland defense systems, Titus was silent for close to a full two weeks…and when given the opportunity to specifically keep known terrorists off of American soil, Titus voted to move American-hating terrorists to the United States (Washington Digest: Bill allows trials in U.S., Las Vegas Review Journal, 10-18-09).

This year, voters in Southern Nevada will be given the choice to vote for Double-Dipping, Disappearing Dina or a true National Security leader in Joe Heck.

Dr. Joe Heck is an active member of the Army Reserves and an Iraq war veteran with first-hand knowledge of the threats that face our nation. A graduate of the Army War College with a Masters in Strategic Studies, Dr. Heck is committed to giving our brave men and women the tools they need to protect our country and will work tirelessly to bring safety and security to our great nation.

“The time for political rhetoric is over,” said Dr. Joe Heck, Candidate for Congress. “We need to take a careful look at our homeland security policies and procedures in the wake of this potentially disastrous event,” Heck continued.

“Our national security cannot continue to be ignored by legislators who neither have the experience nor expertise to make capable decisions. It is long past time that we make American safety our top priority and give our American troops and security agencies our full support.”
