(NN&V Staff) – Griffin Communications Group (GCG) of Nevada recently announced Chelsea Capurro and Jo Ann Prevetti will fill the positions of manager of government affairs and director of operations, respectively.
Jessica Ferrato, GCG vice president, left the firm in January after five years to cover Pfizer’s government relations for Nevada, Idaho and Utah.
Capurro, who is located in GCG’s Northern Nevada office, joined Griffin Communications Group as a full-time employee in December. She previously worked with GCG during the 2009 legislative session while completing her bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Nevada, Reno. As GCG’s manager of government affairs, Capurro will assist in client tracking and oversee important policy issues throughout the state while playing an active role in providing legislators and other policy makers a full spectrum of information about the industries and entities GCG represents.
Jo Ann Prevetti, located in the Southern Nevada office, also joined GCG full time in December. She began her career in New York in the Regulatory Affairs Division of the Estee Lauder Companies, working with local, national and international governments in relation to product development. Upon her relocation to Las Vegas, she became the corporate administrator for Intermountain West Communications Company owner Jim Rogers and continued as his executive director in the chancellor’s office.
She has raised millions of dollars for the Nevada System of Higher Education, the Motion Picture and Television Fund, Autism Speaks and Olive Crest, to name a few. Her background is in government relations, fundraising and corporate business operations.
As the director of operations for GCG, Prevetti will use her expertise to ensure quality communications and relationships are upheld to the highest standard. She earned her associate degree from Katharine Gibbs Business School for Women, her bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies from Kaplan College and her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.
