(Angle for Senate Campaign) – Sharron Angle (R-NV), a conservative former state legislator who leads over Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) by five percentage points in the latest Mason-Dixon poll released this month, said today that Harry Reid is unable to prioritize properly when it comes to the nation’s prosperity, adding that he is leading America’s economy over the falls.
“What good is a disastrous socialistic health plan when you’re chronically sick of being without a job? Harry Reid’s obsession with controlling the nation’s healthcare has put the nation’s economy on a malfunctioning pacemaker.”
Angle said that the newest release of the country’s unemployment numbers meant prolonged torture for Nevada’s recovery.
“Last month we saw another 85,000 jobs washed away because of the lack of confidence that employers hold under Harry Reid’s leadership, and Nevada’s major industry will be the last to recover while the country currently drowns from 10% unemployment and 17.3% underemployment.
“The numbers are even more troubling if you factor in the flood of the additional 661,000 Americans who swam off the labor force during December because they could no longer tread water as they waded through the sludge for one of Harry Reid’s fantasy jobs. The job seekers in this country have been waterboarded by Harry Reid’s stimulus drip of deficit spending while more than four million jobs were flushed away during 2009.”
Angle said Reid’s boastful claim that his role as Majority Leader has been beneficial for Nevada is unsubstantiated.
“Our state suffers from the worst housing market and the second worse job market. Harry Reid is not a leader for Nevada — he’s a fish on a leader who’s been reeled in by this radical left-wing administration, and our country is not willing to tread water for another six years of Harry Reid’s failed leadership.
“As Reid’s replacement, I will fight to return the federal government to its constitutional role, and I will to fight to lessen the burdens of overbearing taxation and overreaching regulations that are keeping job creators and American households under water.”
