Las Vegas Revelers Can Expect to See Nevada Guardsmen on ‘The Strip’ During New Year’s Eve Celebration

CARSON CITY – As it has for more than 25 years now, the Nevada National Guard is set to team with its community law enforcement partners to ensure a safe New Year’s Eve celebration throughout Las Vegas.

New Year’s Eve revelers in Las Vegas can expect to see Nevada National Guard Soldiers at various major intersections on ‘The Strip’ and in downtown Las Vegas during the New Year’s holiday period, Wednesday and Thursday (Dec. 31, 2025, through Jan. 1, 2026.)

About 190 Nevada Guard Soldiers will be on duty to assist with crowd control, triage support, and ensure safety.

Most of the Guardsmen will be teamed with Las Vegas Metro Police units on the Strip and downtown during the New Year’s Eve celebration.

Media interested in interviews with Nevada National Guardsmen in advance of the NYE celebration can RSVP for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the Las Vegas Readiness Center, 4500 Silverado Ranch Boulevard.

National Guard Soldiers and Airmen have been on duty and have helped ensure a safe New Year’s in Las Vegas for more than 25 years.

Nevada Division of Emergency Management officials stress there is no specific threat to any event or site in southern Nevada.

The cooperative New Year’s mission is headed by Clark County Emergency Management and supported by the Nevada National Guard and local and federal law enforcement agencies. Various forms of cooperative mission and training exercises have occurred since the Y2K scare of 1999.
