Lombardo Drops the Hammer: Vetoes Dems’ Fake Voter ID Bill Filled with Loopholes

(Courtney Holland) – Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo has vetoed AB499, a bill that would implement voter ID in Nevada.

GREAT NEWS!

It’s a deeply flawed bill filled with poison pills and a threat to election integrity. Here’s the real story.

Nevada Democrats tried to slip through a weak election law that keeps shoddy signature verification for mail-in ballots and expands mail ballot drop boxes without proper safeguards.

AB499 required photo ID for in-person voters but let mail ballots slide with just a signature match, creating an inconsistent two-tier system.

It also failed to strengthen signature checks and left drop boxes vulnerable to risks like ballot harvesting.

The Democrats know a robust voter ID constitutional amendment is on track to pass in 2026 (Question 7), so this bill was a sneaky attempt to dilute election integrity with half-measures.

Governor Lombardo, who is 100% behind voter ID, stood up for secure, fair elections by rejecting this bill. He’s ensuring Nevada’s elections align with the stronger standards voters will approve in 2026.

Kudos to Gov. Lombardo for protecting election integrity. Let’s get Voter ID passed in 2026 without all this added nonsense!
