Parents in Southern Nevada aren’t lacking opinions about education. What they often lack is clear, side-by-side information.
The School Choice Fair coming to Las Vegas on Saturday, January 24 will give them just that.
Hosted by the AFC Growth Fund in partnership with the National School Choice Awareness Foundation, the event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at IPEC Las Vegas.
The fair is part of National School Choice Week and is expected to be one of the largest school choice events in the country.
Dozens of schools will be represented, covering nearly every option Nevada families can realistically consider.
That includes traditional public schools, public charter schools, magnet programs, and private schools.
Instead of chasing websites or relying on social media hearsay, parents can walk up, ask questions, and hear directly from educators.
School choice debates can get loud. This event keeps things practical.
It’s built for parents trying to make decisions for their kids, not politicians looking to score political points.
It’s also free and family-friendly. Bring the kids. Take your time. Leave with better clarity than you walked in with.
Nevada students aren’t identical. Neither are their needs.
Some kids do well in large campuses. Others need smaller classrooms or specialized programs.
A single system simply can’t serve every child equally.
School choice gives families the ability to look beyond their zip code and consider what actually meets their needs.
But giving parents the opportunity to choose only works if they know what’s available. This fair helps close that gap.
The event will fill both the lobby and ballroom at IPEC Las Vegas, giving families space to explore without feeling rushed.
Expect:
- Direct conversations with school representatives
- Clear information on enrollment and timelines
- Answers about academics, class size, and student support
- A relaxed, welcoming environment
