It isn’t.
I would be fine if it was as I lean in that direction, but the MAGA movement isn’t. It’s a big tent and contains all types of Americans.
Ultra conservatives could never win the rust belt – that is just a fact.
Social conservatives could never win the rust belt – that is just a fact.
Fiscal conservatives could never win the rust belt or anywhere.
MAGA could and did win the rust belt because it includes right of center Americans, moderate Americans and left of center Americans.
MAGA could move the blue states to the right because it includes some left of center Americans.
MAGA could win the South because it includes conservatives, moderates and yes some left of center Americans.
The only thing MAGA doesn’t contain is crazy leftists, Marxists, communists, and endless war wackos.
This purity test that some want to try to stamp on the movement is disingenuous and shows that they don’t understand the movement and its mostly coming from the libertarians and far right atm.
I’m sure some of the left of center and moderates will join in at some point.
The goal of MAGA is in its name, to make America great again.
It isn’t to make America conservative again, though in my opinion that would be needed long term to truly make her great again, but any movement to the right will help.
There are policies pushed by the Trump admin that will anger each group at some point.
Some may want less spending. Some may not like the tariffs, some may want less foreign involvement, some more.
Some may want better health outcomes with MAHA, less vaccines, better food system. Some may want more arrests and convictions.
The list of different wants is endless.
The list of immediate needs is far shorter and most of those are being addressed by the admin.
We need a good economy. We need less war. We need less drugs.
We need better education system. We need a stronger main street. We need good jobs. We need less illegal cheap labor.
We need less spending on stupid shit like DEI. We need upward mobility within our country.
We need to be a nation state. We need less government. We need less welfare. We need more private sector input.
We need less fraud. We need consequences for illegal behavior. There are other needs but I’m running out of space.
Trump and his admin are addressing those needs as best they are able and in my opinion doing a fantastic job.
I might not agree with every little thing, but for the vast majority of policies I agree.
Now, you can pretend that being “OG” maga is important or more MAGA then someone else, but it isn’t.
I, and most of us, don’t care when you joined the movement.
We don’t care if you are ultra conservative, right center, moderate or left of center.
What I and, in my opinion, most of MAGA cares about is if you are going to row the boat with the rest of MAGA or if you are going to attempt a mutiny every time something doesn’t go your way.
Trump was upfront on what he was going to do. He detailed pretty much every action he has taken so far during the campaign.
The vast majority of us don’t have any regrets and are happy that we are getting what we voted for. Sure, some of us would like more or faster, etc.
Some people voted for Trump because he wasn’t Kamala and hoped he wasn’t serious about his campaign promises or thought they could change him after he got into office.
Those people are mostly panicans and doomers now.
The rest of us are loving every second of this administration.
So those who want to attempt the mutiny option shouldn’t be surprised when the crew makes them walk the plank regardless of how long they were on the ship.
