Socialists and communists have gained influence with younger, more naïve Americans. They genuinely can’t understand why they can’t get something for nothing.
And to reiterate, it’s not just the so-called “Democratic Socialists” who are influencing these young folks.
If you’ve paid any attention to the parades in New York City and elsewhere, large contingents of people are carrying the hammer and sickle communist flag and pictures of Marx, Lenin and Che Guevarra.
Recently, the Democratic Socialists of America released their platform, and they actually reveal their desire to gut America and remake it in the image of the now-defunct Soviet Union.
Think not?
They want to abolish the U.S. Senate and replace the House and Senate with a single federal legislature. Kinda like the Soviet Union’s Politburo.
They want to abolish the U.S. Supreme Court and replace it with an entity overseen by Congress. What could go wrong with that? Having a one-party congress packing a court that would find for every left-wing scheme.
They want to eliminate cash bail that would allow criminals to commit a crime and then be released on their own promise to reappear in court. Why wouldn’t we take the criminals word after he’s committed a crime?
They want to eliminate student loan debt. So, free college education is just for the asking, like everything they’re asking for.
And as the late British Prime Minister Margret Thatcher once noted, “socialism works great until you’ve run out of the other person’s money.”
If all of that doesn’t have a ring of complete nonsense, they’ve got a cherry on the top. They want open borders and then let those noncitizens to be able to vote in our elections.
Question: what other country in the world allows noncitizens to vote in their elections and decide on the future of their nation?
The answer is none.
But the Democratic Socialists of America wants the United States to be the first to commit political suicide.
If you think that representatives of the Democratic Socialists of America only exist in other states, think twice. We’ve got a surreptitious socialist candidate running for office right here in Las Vegas.
His name is Vinny Spotleson, and he’s running as a candidate for Assembly District 41 with the intent of socializing the State of Nevada.
First of all, let’s get it out of the way whether or not he’s a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. He replied to a post on X calling him a “closet” member of the DSA. He not only didn’t deny it, but he also confirmed it.
His response, “Bro I am a dues paying member of @lasvegasdsa. I have posted at their events. Not hiding anything.”

So, he’s a dues-paying member of the Democratic Socialists of America that wants to abolish the Senate, get rid of the Electoral College, and put prosecutors, police and prisons on the chopping block.
He wants to force people out of their cars by using taxpayer dollars to build a light rail system in Las Vegas. He spouts the very same anti-car philosophy being promoted by the wackadoddle mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani.
We don’t have the compacted population in Clark County that they have in New York or Chicago. And most Las Vegans prefer to drive their own car than being forced into some form of public transportation.
And he wants to tax corporations and utilities more and more to pay for his far-left environmental agenda. That means that Nevada families will end up paying higher costs for these services.
What the state of Nevada doesn’t need or want is the incursion of the Democratic Socialists of America.
New York City is the petri dish for this kind of government control. We see how that’s working out.
Socialist Vinny Spotleson and his socialist ideas should be rejected for the good of our state.
