Nevada Candidate Steps in Deep Doo-Doo Over Abortion

Posted By

(Chuck Muth) – So…

A candidate for Assembly District 35 – an “open” seat thanks to scandal-plagued incumbent Democrat Michelle Gorelow deciding not to seek re-election – has been berated for posting an unabashedly pro-life message on social media back in 2016.

The candidate linked to a “graphic animated video depicting an abortion” on Facebook and posted this message…

“Anyone who aborts a child is undoubtedly a murderer.  Please share this video as much as possible so that everyone knows how they murder an innocent child.”

Now here’s the kicker: The candidate is NOT a Republican!

She’s Sharifa Wahab, the Democrat candidate who’s been endorsed by Assembly Speaker Steve Yeager and the full Assembly Democrat Caucus.

Naturally, the post has since been deleted and Wahab was sent to a Democrat re-education camp to get her head straight.  In Democratland, no concern for an unborn baby is allowed.

So now that Wahab is a Democrat political candidate, she’s had an “election conversion.”

She told the Nevada Independent last Friday: “I regret sharing this Facebook post, and I can’t emphasize enough how it does not reflect my opinion on access to safe, legal abortion.”

Translation: “I regret sharing this Facebook post because I’m now a Democrat candidate and having an anti-abortion position isn’t allowed because it’s the only issue Democrats have against Republicans in the 2024 election cycle.”

Upon her return from the woodshed for her heresy, Wahab was back on the reservation.  She concluded her Indy interview with this…

“I will work every day in the state Legislature to protect Nevada women’s reproductive freedom and make sure no politician takes away a woman’s right to choose.”

Re-education a complete success. So successful that she’s now actively misleading voters about the issue, just like a good Democrat.

Sad.  Pitiful.  Shameful.

The fact of the matter is, a Nevada law enshrining abortion rights was approved by a vote of the people of Nevada in the early 1990’s.  And only a vote of the people can change that. No politicians can do so, even if they wanted to.

Wahab will face Republican challenger Dr. Rebecca Edgeworth – who’s been endorsed by Gov. Joe Lombardo – in the November general election, as neither candidate drew a primary challenger.

2024 Conservative Awards Dinner Details Announced

Get ready for another star-studded, fun-filled, action-packed, unforgettable night-to-remember dinner event celebrating and honoring leaders of Nevada’s conservative movement and the volunteers who make it all happen.

Citizen Outreach Foundation’s (COF) annual “2024 Conservative Awards Dinner & Volunteer Appreciation Night” will be held on Wednesday, May 1st, at the world-famous Italian American Club in Las Vegas.

Here’s the low-down…

  • 5:30 pm:  VIP cocktail reception with award recipients
  • 6:00 pm:  General admission doors open; cash bar mix-and-mingle
  • 6:30 pm:  Dinner served
  • 7:00 pm:  Awards presentations
  • 7:30 pm:  DUELING PIANOS SHOW!

All proceeds will go to COF’s Pigpen Project which has been successfully getting ineligible voters removed from the active voter registration rolls to prevent mail-ballots from ending up in the wrong hands and protecting the integrity of Nevada’s elections.

Awards will be presented in the following categories…

  • Conservative of the Year
  • Rising Star
  • Courage Under Fire
  • Unsung Hero
  • Reagan Legacy Award

The three events Citizen Outreach hosted last year all SOLD OUT.

Why?  Because we put the FUN in “fundraising.”

For example, last April’s dinner entertainment was a murder-mystery/comedy show in which former conservative Republican Assemblywoman Annie Black was revealed to be a serial killer trying to take out political rivals. (No, Ralston, it wasn’t based on a true story.)

Laughter. Merriment. Good conservatives. Good friends. Good food. Good drink. Good conversation. Good time had by all.

Right now, only sponsorships – which include full-table seating (8 seats) – are available.

Individual tickets will go on sale around April 15th – a couple days earlier for Inner Circle members – *if* there are any seats left after we fill our sponsorships.

In fact, a number of candidates have already purchased “Volunteer Tables” (at half-price!) for themselves and their campaign volunteers.

So if you’re a candidate or the head of a conservative organization who would like to join us for a fun-filled evening honoring conservative leaders in Nevada and thanking some of your top grassroots volunteers, reserve your Volunteer Table now!
