MUTH’S TRUTHS
Nevada Assembly Republicans don’t put out very many press releases.
Then again, the Assembly Republicans – under the failed mismanagement of Minority Leader Greg Hafen – don’t often do much that’s newsworthy, especially for conservatives.
But one of their members put out a breathless press release this morning on an issue of critical importance to struggling Nevadans:
“Nevada Assemblyman Bert Gurr (District 33) announced today he will sponsor legislation during the 2027 session to designate the blue elderberry as the official State Fruit of Nevada.”
Ugh.
Assembly District 33 (Elko) is about as “red” as it gets. There are fewer than 5,000 registered Democrats and almost 23,000 Republicans.
As such, you’d think voters there would elect a fire-breathing, America First conservative to aggressively represent them on important issues such as crime, the economy, education, election integrity, etc.
But you’d be wrong.
Sigh.
THIS is why primaries are so important. Alas, Mr. Gurr didn’t draw one. But at least conservatives might get an official state fruit out of the deal.
