Nevada Assemblywoman Torres-Fossett (D-EI) – or as I call her, “Selena” – might very well be the “AOC of Nevada.” Indeed, she’s not exactly the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.
Over the weekend, Erica Neely of the Hispanic Latin Alliance re-posted a tweet of Border Patrol agents in Los Angeles busting an Iranian human trafficking ring.
You’d think this was something we all could be happy about. But Little Miss Sunshine was not amused.
“Immigrants make this country great,” Selena tweeted.
This is standard operating procedure for the open borders crowd on the left. They refuse to make the distinction between legal immigrants – who stood in line and followed the rules to come to America – and those who break in unlawfully.
So I replied…
“But of course, as you know, that’s NOT what we’re talking about. We’re talking about ILLEGAL immigrants – including gang-bangers, drug dealers, murderers, rapists, and thieves. How intellectually dishonest of you to conflate the two.”
To which sassy Selena doubled down…
“Conflating criminals with undocumented immigrants is intellectually dishonest of you. But I expect nothing less from the people that elected a convicted felon to serve as President. Immigrants look like me and my family. I am proud of my roots and of my family’s immigration story.”

“Still playing the word games, huh? The reason they’re ‘undocumented’ is because they broke the law by breaking into our country. That is, by definition, criminal. What part of breaking-the-law-makes-you-a-criminal are you having such a tough time understanding?”
To which Selana replied…
“@ChuckMuth thanks for clarifying. The Republican war on immigrants was never about criminals, it’s about attacking the very people that built this nation. I stand with immigrants.”
When I tweeted back about an illegal alien and convicted child molester from Haiti – who was recently caught by ICE in Philadelphia – and asked if he was one of the one’s she thinks “built this nation,” Selena twit-tweeted…
“@ChuckMuth your hate is showing. One individual that committed a violent crime is not representative of our community. Immigrants are our parents. Immigrants are our students. Immigrants are the backbone of this nation and am the proud daughter of an immigrant.”
None are so blind as those who refuse to see, especially when making the distinction between legal and illegal immigrants. So I gave it another shot, hoping she’d see the light…
“Once again, sunshine, you’ve missed the point. We’re talking about ILLEGAL immigrants. Do you not understand the difference, or are you intentionally misleading your constituents and the public?”
Well, that sure got the Millennial’s knickers in a knot. She huffed-and-puffed back…
“The name is Selena to my friends. But for you it is Asm. Torres-Fossett.”
Selena’s apparently taking strategic communications advice from the ever-thin-skinned A-Ron Ford.
“You sure are full of yourself, Selena. I can see you don’t take criticism very well. Maybe you’d be better off just apologizing, promising not to do it again, and return to your back bench. You’re not ready for prime time.”
At which point, Nevada’s AOC finally gave up and scurried back into her hole.
To recap: The left knows it’s on the losing side of this issue. Big time. So their only defense is to conflate legal and illegal immigration.
If you dare to call them out on it, that makes you a “hater.” And when you confront and challenge them, they stomp their feet, throw a hissy fit, and have a veritable meltdown.
It’s obvious that Selena is one of those low-IQ Democrats who are currently leading their party. What’s of greater concern is that she’s a public school teacher instilling this clap-trap in our kids.
A great argument in favor of home-schooling.
