New AFP Ad in Nevada Slams Obama over Solyndra

New AFP Ad in Nevada Slams Obama over Solyndra

(Americans for Prosperity) – Adam Stryker announces ad buy in Nevada that demands accountability from Washington

The White House’s internal audit of loans made to favored green energy companies is a step in the right direction, but we’re not holding our breath for substantive action.

Today, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) begins a $2.4 million nationwide media blitz, with a heavy focus in Nevada. “Obama’s Green Giveaway” ad will play on cable and network stations in every major media market.

The ad asks the White House to provide real answers about the billions in taxpayer-funded loans and the companies who received them. AFP is speaking up for the millions of taxpayers whose money was squandered on worthless loans to companies like Solyndra, and other political allies of the Obama Administration.

“It is time President Obama come clean about the billions of ‘green energy’ taxpayer-funded loans it provided and the companies who received them,” said Adam Stryker, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-Nevada. “Nevada’s economy is in a grave decline with the highest unemployment in the nation and President Obama is throwing away desperately needed tax dollars to his political allies in the name of ‘green energy’. The White House must start putting struggling Nevadans and American citizens before political favoritism and green energy ideology.”

The leadership of the internal audit raises troubling questions of its own. Herbert Allison, former director of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), was selected to oversee the audit.

Tim Phillips, President of AFP, added, “It is insulting that the White House would select the very bureaucrat who dispensed taxpayer dollars from the TARP slush fund to investigate its current green energy giveaways. The American people want a serious investigation and an end to these sweetheart deals.”

The media blitz, which is a good example of activities to look forward to from AFP in 2012, coincides with the nationwide Energy for America bus tour, currently traveling the country and hosting rallies in support of sensible energy policy based on sound economics. The tour is powered by American Energy Alliance, Americans for Prosperity, and the Institute for Energy Research.
