Albert Mack Launches PAC to Chase a Republican Senate Majority.
Nevada Republicans have a real shot at something big this year. They could flip the state Senate.
Right now, Democrats control the Senate 13 to 8. Republicans need just three more seats to take the majority.
Las Vegas businessman Albert Mack wants to help make that happen.
He announced today that he's launching The Mack PAC, a new political action committee built around one main goal: win those three Senate seats.
“I've spent my career building things in this state,” Mack said. “I'm not going to watch politicians in Carson City tear it down because conservatives didn't show up in the districts that matter.”
Here's why the Senate matters so much.
If Republicans win the majority, they control what bills even get a vote. Bad bills can be stopped before they ever reach the governor's desk.
No veto fight needed. The gate closes first.
The PAC is focused on three specific races.
In Senate District 8, George Harris is challenging incumbent Marilyn Dondero Loop.
In Senate District 9, Maria Thompson is taking on incumbent Melanie Scheible.
And in Senate District 12, Rafael Arroyo is challenging incumbent Sen. Julie Pazina.
Arroyo came close to winning a State Assembly seat back in 2024. Now he's trying again, this time for the Senate.
Mack says the PAC won't spread its money across every race on the ballot. Instead, it's putting its resources behind these three races specifically.
“We're targeting the races that were decided by a few hundred votes last cycle,” Mack said. “Those are the races where real investment can change the outcome.”
The Mack PAC isn't just thinking about November, either.
Democrats also hold a large majority in the Assembly. Every Assembly seat Republicans pick up this fall helps build toward something bigger down the road.
Nevada's political maps get redrawn after the 2030 census. That means the state Legislature will draw brand new district lines before the 2031 session.
Being in a stronger position going into that fight matters.
The PAC's launch is already drawing support from some of Nevada's most recognized Republican leaders.
Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony praised the effort.
“The future direction of Nevada will be decided in a handful of districts this fall,” Anthony said. “Albert Mack understood that and moved before anyone else did.”
Nevada Republican Party Chair Michael McDonald also backed the new PAC.
“Republicans win when we're organized and willing to put real money into the races that decide majorities, not just the easy ones,” McDonald said. “That's exactly what The Mack PAC is built to do.”
The PAC has also picked up support from State Controller Andy Matthews and Clark County Republican Party Chair Jill Douglass.
Mack says the PAC will operate independently, working alongside the candidates and other conservative groups rather than folding into any one campaign.
With several competitive races on the ballot this fall, The Mack PAC adds a new source of funding and focus to the Republican side. Nevada voters should expect to hear a lot more from this PAC in the months ahead.
