Pipeline Delayed; Obama Cares More About His Job Than Yours

Pipeline Delayed; Obama Cares More About His Job Than Yours

November 14, 2011

(Thomas Mitchell/4th St8) – It’s been said many times and many ways over the past couple of days, but I doubt if it’s been said any better.

The Morning Bell at Heritage Foundation opens with this ringing indictment of the Obama administration and gets to the crux of the matter:

“If Americans needed any further proof that the Obama Administration is one of the most political on record, or that, for all the recent demagoguing, it really cares only about re-election, not about job creation, then you need look no further than its cynical Keystone XL oil pipeline decision last week.”

It goes on to spell out the facts in terms of jobs lost, tax dollars squandered, safety record, even future increases in pollution due to seagoing tankers being more widely used to send Canadian oil to China and bring that evil crude to the U.S. from the Middle East.

Obama would rather appeal to his base of envirolunatics and celebrity Cassandras than provide jobs for Americans.

The Heritage piece concludes with this pithy remark: “When the President puts his job over those of tens of thousands Americans, that is politics and a presidency at its worst.”

As if Barry’s treachery weren’t bad enough, here is what Harry wrote about the pipeline project:

“The proponents of this pipeline would be wiser to invest instead in job-creating clean energy projects, like renewable power, energy efficiency or advanced vehicles and fuels that would employ thousands of people in the United States rather than increasing our dependency on unsustainable supplies of dirty and polluting oil that could easily be exported.”

I don’t guess any of the pipeline backers remembered to grease Harry’s campaign palm.
