At 2:00 a.m. yesterday morning, the Las Vegas Sun broke the story about Nevada Attorney General A-Ron Ford getting hauled up before the Nevada ethics commission on a number of issues.

At the end of the column I noted that liberal blubber-blogger Jon Ralston – who is essentially the Democrats’ unofficial press secretary – was gonna have a whale of a time trying to spin this scandal on A-Ron’s behalf.
And as of 5:00 a.m. this morning, they apparently STILL haven’t figured out how to carry the embattled Democrat’s water on this one.
Ralston loves to think of himself as Nevada’s version of Woodward & Bernstein – breaking the most important stories of our lifetime with “exclusive” articles and “scooping” the competition.
But here we are more than a full day after Ralston himself got scooped by the Sun and all we’ve gotten from him and his left-wing fake news blog is…crickets.
Indeed, in the 24 hours+ after the story broke, while every other news organization and their uncle was weighing in on the Ford scandal, here’s a sampling of what we got from Jonny Jihad and/or his Nevada Independent on X…

- A swipe at Trump over his new nominee for U.S. attorney who’s “donated to members of both major political parties.”
- Article on the legal fight between Nevada gaming regulators and the prediction market
- Hit piece on Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill with a fact-check on how many Nevadans are on the Medicaid welfare program
- Ralston writing about how “impressed” he is with Michigan’s men’s basketball team
- A list of potential Democrat presidential candidates who have visited Nevada since Democrat Kamala’s loss
And that’s it. Not a peep about A-Ron to be found. Anywhere. Except in Ralston’s paid e-newsletter with this short item:
“Nugget No. 5 – Ah, the Ethics Commission being weaponized in a governor’s race? Joe Lombardo knows all about that…”
Yep, you read that right.
Ralston’s only minor reference to the A-Ron scandal was to a very small, private, pay-to-play audience which characterized the scandal as the “weaponization” of the ethics commission.
Oh, and naturally a swipe at Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo – who fought off a Democrat effort to weaponize the ethics commission over a BS complaint about the former sheriff being photographed wearing his sheriff’s uniform in the 2022 election.
Ralston and his Nevada Independent are anything but “independent.” They’re a propaganda machine for Democrats that demonstrates Trump Derangement Syndrome on an almost daily basis.
This isn’t “journalism.” He should rename his blog The Nevada Pravda.
