Reid’s Immigration Reform Bill: Fascism, if You Like It

Reid’s Immigration Reform Bill: Fascism, if You Like It
N&V Staff
May 4, 2010

(Mark Noonan) – Unveiled by the Democrat Senate leadership, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid as well as Senators Dick Durbin, Charles Schumer, Bob Menendez, Pat Leahy and Dianne Feinstein:

“…Democratic leaders have proposed requiring every worker in the nation to carry a national identification card with biometric information, such as a fingerprint, within the next six years, according to a draft of the measure…

…The national ID program would be titled the Believe System, an acronym for Biometric Enrollment, Locally stored Information and Electronic Verification of Employment.

It would require all workers across the nation to carry a card with a digital encryption key that would have to match work authorization databases…”

And yet our liberals are trying to claim that the Arizona law will allow the cops to ask for our papers! There is a danger of tyranny in America – but it doesn’t come from Arizona. It comes from Reid and his cohorts.

I will not apply for nor would I ever carry such a document. And I find it astounding that anyone who claims to be an American would ever propose such a thing.

This is what we get when we have liberals, like Reid, running the show. They don’t want to do the one thing which would solve the immigration problem: secure the border. But they do want to gain ever more control over our lives – so, under cover of border security, they create a national ID card on which will be everything the government needs to know about us.

To be sure, Democrats are asserting that the card will only be used for employment purposes. But just as our social security number was never supposed to be used for anything but social security, once you hand the government a convenient way to track you, they will take advantage of it.

What can we expect? We’ll have the present the card every time we purchase so the government will know what we’re buying because government is worried we’re buying too much junk food. We’ll need it to travel from State to State because government needs to know how far we travel, so they can tax us better. We won’t get health care without having our biometric information available because how will they know if we’re eligible without it?

Such a card will do nothing for border security – a card can be faked. Or a liberal judge can order such cards to be issued to illegals. Why? Because judges have already said we can’t deny illegals welfare, and if you need the card to get welfare, then you can’t deny the card.

All we’ve got here is a very big thumb of government – and we’ll be completely under it.

Do we need any more proof that Harry Reid and the entire Democrat party is out of touch? That they view the people as an enemy to be controlled rather than a master they serve? That when push comes to shove, they’ll always put their own power and wealth ahead of our well being?

No, thanks, Harry – I was born free and prefer to stay that way. Keep your biometric ID card. Keep all your plans to control me and my fellow citizens.
