(Joe Wierzbicki) – Hello fellow Patriots. I wanted to give you all a quick update on the events shaping up for March 27th. There has been a lot of excitement about everything that is coming together, also some questions, and even a few concerns. Hopefully I can address the gist of anything and everything you all wanted to know. If there’s a question you have that’s not been answered, feel free to speak up!
First of all… our plan from the get-go (going back many months ago) was to actually start our day in Laughlin, NV. But we deliberately were hush-hush about these plans and didn’t put the word out ahead of time, because to “tell our story” to Nevada conservative activists, the Nevada press corps and national news media, we needed to start with a simple, coherent message: we are going to kick off the Tea Party Express III national tour of 42 tea parties with a mega rally in Harry Reid’s hometown and reinforce our own commitment to defeating his re-election bid.
The plan is to have supporters meet up with our tour delegation of Tea Party Express buses and support vehicles in the parking lot of Harrah’s Laughlin. We will be holding a brief news conference/mini-rally in the parking lot and then the buses will pull out leading the caravan of vehicles from Laughlin to Searchlight. Everyone is invited to come to Laughlin and join the caravan. We’ve heard some campaigns even discussing plans on having their own buses come and be a part of the caravan. Folks who want to join this effort should arrive at the Harrah’s Laughlin parking lot between 9:30-10:00 AM.
We then will caravan together northward towards Searchlight and hold the big mega-rally. We allotted extra time for this rally (beyond the typical 90 minutes which is a “goal” for a Tea Party Express rally) given the fact we knew we’d have more speakers than normal. We also allotted extra time because we know that there will be a high-likelihood of traffic problems with so many folks streaming into Searchlight and then back north after the rally.
When we’ve completed the rally we will have the Tea Party Express buses then lead an even bigger caravan of all these vehicles to the Henderson Pavillion for the 5:00 PM rally there. I know there was some concern from some folks about whether the Henderson event would be given short-shrift, but we should be bringing a small army of supporters with us to this event which will ensure for a great crowd.
So… the rundown:
9:30-10:00 AM – Supporters arrive at Harrah’s Laughlin parking lot. Then everyone caravans up to Searchlight.
10:30 AM – Candidate’s forum hosted by Anger is Brewing at Searchlight rally location.
12:00 Noon – Tea Party Express’s “Showdown in Searchlight” Mega Rally.
4:00 PM – Grassroots Nevada event with Ann Coulter at Henderson Pavillion
5:00 PM – Tea Party Express rally at Henderson Pavillion
But there is MUCH MUCH MORE going on…
*BIG BONUS #1:
Debbie Landis of Anger is Brewing has graciously agreed to put together a candidates forum in Searchlight starting at approximately 10:30 AM. We are telling our folks to get to Searchlight early so the crowd should be building in advance of this time. Our goal is to have the candidate’s forum conclude at 12:00 Noon for the start of the Tea Party Express rally. We will have the candidates for U.S. Senate speak later during the actual rally (the candidates for this office ONLY will not be involved in the pre-rally candidates forum).
And yes, we want Bill Parson to speak – just as we’ve invited him to speak at every other Tea Party Express rally we’ve had to date. Sharron Angle and Bill Parson have attended – and spoken at – more Tea Party Express events (in big cities and small towns) than any other candidate for U.S. Senate. We’ve taken note of that and appreciate how hard they’ve worked to speak to the people of this great state. So put the word out to be there at Searchlight starting at 10:30 AM if possible to secure a good place to sit and also hear the candidates who want to represent YOU speaking.
*BIG BONUS #2:
Ann Coulter joins the fun on March 27th in Henderson, NV!!! Grassroots Nevada is organizing a pre-rally at the Henderson Pavillion prior to the arrival of the Tea Party Express caravan on March 27th. Gates open at 3:30 PM and the show begins at 4:00 PM. ** And what a show it will be, as it has been announced that Ann Coulter will be the keynote speaker at this event! **
BIG BONUS #3
We are still working to organize charter buses from a variety of places throughout Nevada and the Southwest to get people to Searchlight on March 27th. Anyone interested in trying to get a seat on a bus heading to Searchlight can email our team at the Tea Party Express at: CharterBus.email@example.com and our team will tell the person the information on the charter buses nearest them heading to Searchlight.
*Like the rest of the tea party movement in Nevada, we at the Tea Party Express denounce the formation of the bogus Tea Party and the “Save Reid” candidate, Jon Ashjian. Sorry, but you can’t be a “tea party” candidate when you’ve never been involved in the tea party movement whatsoever, and then launch your effort in a bid to split the anti-Reid vote and ensure his re-election. Listening to Harry Reid tell the media how pleased he was to be winning in this new 3-way race dynamic made our stomachs turn. Should the insanity continue and Ashjian have any traction as November approaches, you can bet that we at the Tea Party Express will be raising the money to go up on the airwaves in Nevada to denounce this bogus candidate doing the bidding of Harry Reid.
*Speaking of TV ads… we’re going up on the airwaves to get the word out about the events on March 27th. You’ll be seeing some of our ads on various channels on TV and radio. We’ll be up throughout much of Nevada and also on cable TV in the surrounding areas of California and Arizona. We want to ensure a strong turnout for the events of March 27th! This has to be a big statement folks. We have national news media coming and we can’t afford anything other than total success.
*The word is getting out…
To show you the impact that the events of March 27th will have, here’s just a couple links to show you the buzz that’s being generated – beyond state lines. We were pleased to see the team at KNTR-Lake Havasu up with a poll asking their listeners if they plan to attend the “Showdown in Searchlight” with Gov. Palin. The poll can be viewed on the left-hand side of their website here: http://www.kntram.com/
In Kingman, Arizona, News/Talk KAAA/KZZZ is talking up the rally too – on the airwaves and online at their Facebook page:
That’s the report for now folks. Can’t wait for March 27th! We’ve also got a few more surprises you’ll all get to enjoy that day. We think you’ll enjoy them!
