The Biggest Lie

The Biggest Lie
Chuck Muth
November 9, 2013

“If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away from you, no matter what.” – Spoken on June 15, 2009 at an AMA meeting, and repeated and repeated and repeated.

(Nancy Dallas) – As we now know all too well, these very words were and are by any definition – a LIE. And in his pathetic attempt to somehow escape the increasing glare of guilt, the President made himself look embarrassingly ignorant to the content of his ‘signature’ legislation – and embarrassingly patronizing to the intelligence of the American people.

And what should be just as disgusting to Americans – those Congressmen who voted for what is becoming the “Unaffordable Care Act” for millions, never said one word to dispute the President’s recurrent lie. Their integrity should also be questioned:

If these legislators actually read this legislation prior to voting for it and did not challenge the President’s claims, they are complicit to one of the greatest hoaxes ever played on the American people.

If these legislators voted for this legislation without reading it, they are guilty of violating his/her oath to serve in the best interests and welfare of the American people.

Nancy Pelosi’s infamous comment (spoken with a straight face) “We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it” seemed so ridiculously laughable at the time, but, in hindsight, was simply a prophetically pathetic example of our Federal government at work in today’s world, with no apologies needed!

Yes, healthcare costs for many will go down, particularly if you are simply considering price; however, this is small consolation to the millions and millions of Americans who have received notices that their personal policies have been canceled – and, upon going to the healthcare website have found the available policies will not only double/triple their rates, but substantially increase their deductibles.

And, upon losing your current coverage, our ‘leaders’ in Washington condescendingly say “you simply do not understand – your former policy was not as good as what you will now be forced to buy”, noting that, need them or not, your new policy will include 10 essential health benefits, some of which your former plan may have lacked…..be thankful for your mandated blessings!

Here are a few more potentially negative impacts – as we continue, per Nancy Pelosi, to find out what is in what was passed unread:

Most of the top hospitals will accept insurance from just one or two companies operating under Obamacare – hospitals that were accessible under many currently being cancelled policies. Responding to Obamacare caps on premiums, many insurers will, in turn, simply offer top-tier doctors and hospitals far less cash for services rendered. (Watchdog.org Nov. 4, 2013)

Because states must synchronize personal input with Obamacare’s federal “hub” to access personal data at the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration and U.S. Department of Homeland Security, any personal data you give to a state website may be at risk from potential hackers and other security problems.(NPRI, Nevada Journal, Oct. 10, 2013)

In an analysis by the Manhattan Institute, while the average state will face a premium increase of 41 percent, the average increase facing Nevadans is over four times that, at 179 percent — the most in the nation, according to the new report. (NPRI, Nevada Journal Nov. 6, 2013) Sure helps to have a powerful leader in Washington like Nevada’s Harry Reid!

While the Affordable Care Act has become a partisan issue for the ages, its real world consequences are not politically discerning – unless, of course, you become eligible for one of the President’s politically motivated exemptions to the law.
