(Ed Rush) – Well, hey…what a week.
I mean, last Friday, we were just chilling with the Flight Brief, and the next day, the world totally changed.
Seems the Adversary tried to take out President Trump… aaaaaaand….
He failed.
So, here are my thoughts…call it my opinion. (And by saying that I am giving you 100% permission to disagree with me.) It’s all speculation at this point, and indeed, we may never know. So here goes.
There are basically two options as to the cause of the near-miss assassination attempt last week:
- Complete and total incompetence.
- Conspiracy.
I’m giving it 75/25 odds leaning toward #1.
I’ve been around a lot of incompetent organizations. They look just like this: a bunch of out-of-place (Peter principle) leaders pointing fingers while trying to figure out who should have been on top of that (not so) “slopey” roof.
The current administration has shown very little (if any) discipline. It mostly leans on its mumbling rhetoric coupled with poor judgment.
The media, of course, is so ruined that there is little accountability, thus kicking the “incompetence can” down the road.
Afghanistan was textbook incompetence.
So was last month’s debate.
In general, it looks like no one is in charge.
Probably because no one is…actually…in charge.
Oh, and that’s not a partisan thing BTW.
I am not a member of either party.
I’ve seen some very competent Democratic administrations.
And I’ve seen some very incompetent Republican ones.
Bill Clinton had moral issues, true, but he and Newt Gingrich managed to balance the budget.
George W. Bush may have had a swagger, but he spent money like a drunken sailor on a three-day leave. He did, in fact, spend more money than any President before him (by a long shot). And, for some reason, people still called him “A Conservative.”
But this administration.
Geez.
Let’s just say I am surprised they can find their underwear drawer. They do these interviews where they talk for 30 minutes and say nothing. Look it up…I am not kidding.
I had a client like this before. The guy taught at Harvard Business School and yet had no idea how to make money (which is kind of the point of business). He would give these long talks, which sounded awesome until you realized 30 minutes had gone by, and he hadn’t actually said anything.
So I’m calling it 75% for Incompetence.
As for Conspiracy, this government lies…a lot. They lie about big things (like the President’s health) and they lie about little things (like the price of groceries).
They lie…a lot.
“We know they are lying. They know they are lying. They know that we know they are lying. We know that they know that we know they are lying. And still they continue to lie.” – Alexander Solzhenitsyn
And, when you lie a lot, well, people stop believing what you say.
About.
Everything.
What I can say with 100% certainty is that no matter what Party you belong to, it’s worth saying a prayer of thanks to God that Donald J. Trump is alive because it would be a LOT worse for everyone right now if he weren’t.
Last week’s debacle was a crying shame. But it does prove what I have been saying for YEARS: God’s plan for America is unfolding perfectly.
Muh ha ha.
Thankfully, last week’s “near miss” and evil’s plans for world disruption were thwarted by an even greater Mastermind. God wasn’t just protecting one guy that day. God was looking out for the entire nation. Sadly, our politically volatile and disjointed country is on shaky ground. If last week’s botched tragedy was successful, it could have been a perilous tipping point for our country.
But God’s not having that. He’s got better plans for the U.S. of A.
