I was on the Alan Stock show again this morning [June 28]. I am wearing a black ribbon because I am presently in mourning over the loss of our Constitutional Freedoms. The irony that this Supreme Court of the United States of America’s decision would happen just days before we celebrate the 236th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th is astounding. The parallels should scare all of us on how we have come full circle away from individual freedom into oppressive collectivism.
First, the most memorable conflict that placed in motion the process by British citizens to severing ties with their British government was the Tea Act. Although not a new tax at the time, it was a symbol to the colonist that their government could force them to purchase a product from a single source, a government sanctioned monopoly. Back then, the British East India Company’s monopoly on tea sold in the American colonies from a government that was seriously in debt, and today the Healthcare Insurance Industry’s monopoly on healthcare financing from a government that is seriously in debt.
In 1776, our founding fathers found this act so egregious and irreparable that they severed ties with their government. Back then it was tea which although financially restrictive not life threatening, but today it is our access to health care which may threaten our very lives! Today, our citizens must feel at least the same anger but the anger is now directed at a government gone mad with oppressive control. And I believe what hurts most is that this madness is sanctioned by all three branches of our own government where the checks and balances placed long ago were supposed to protect against this type of tyranny but it has failed.
Yesterday we became a new nation. A nation where our current tyrannical government can determine by a majority vote of government officials that any behavior deemed unfavorable of its citizens can be controlled by an elite minority by the force of a Congressional imposed tax. Congress can force individual citizens to purchase what the government deems best by declaring the lack of purchase a taxable offense. Yes, with the inherent structure of lobbyists in Washington DC today, this has become a landmark decision that spells a virtual gold mine for special interests groups and the ever expanding government monstrosity.
In the new America, the Legislative Branch just makes it a TAX, and instructs the IRS to collect it through the Executive Branch, and the power is sanctioned constitutional by the Judicial Branch with the power to surpass the Bill of Rights in authority! How sad that healthcare has become a vehicle for tyranny. I honestly never thought I would live to see this day.
Here is the link from the original founder of the Black Ribbon Project. I have spoken to her and have her blessing in expanding her message to everyone who is interested.

We need to open our eyes to the CHANGE that has happened and perhaps carefully consider the power of our vote in elections. No matter which political party you favor this sets in motion a completely different America. What will be next? I welcome your responses.
