(Rick Workman) – Local municipal elections conclude on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. For the City of Henderson, it is likely to be one of the most critical elections for mayor that the city has ever held.
Rick Workman is a Republican candidate for Mayor of Henderson. He is a 20-year military veteran, and served our local community in public safety for 23 years. In 2000, he began developing the Henderson Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) unit and the Crime Lab. As director, he leads the best forensic toxicology and fingerprint laboratories in Nevada.
This election is about property taxes, crime, and many other critical issues.
It is about an experienced, tested and proven leader who takes on problems and other challenges head on vs. an incumbent, career politician with experience in real estate and forestry… but who apparently can’t see the forest for the trees.
It is about quality of life vs. massive construction projects of high density residential units without due consideration for our critically limited public safety resources
It pits residents who remained in Henderson or who moved here to enjoy the suburban lifestyle, trails, and parks against career politicians with ties to big business and developers with deep pockets and large campaign donations.
This election separates residents who “hired” representatives in our local government from politicians who say they act in our best interests, but who apparently shun the very citizens who dare ask questions or speak out about critical issues that affect our community.
My experience and successes are far different than those of current council members. I do things. I fix problems. If someone thinks all is well, I’m not satisfied. I search for areas that need attention. I find ways to improve operations, increase efficiency, cut waste, and have solved and prevented crimes. I’ve done that in Henderson for 17 years. I don’t just talk. That’s also why I must become the mayor. The City of Henderson need help, and we need a tested and proven leader.
