(Clark County Republican Party) – Las Vegas, Nevada – June 23, 2011 – At its executive board meeting on Tuesday, June 21, the Clark County Republican Party (CCRP) unanimously passed a motion to support Douglas County Republican Central Committee’s (DCRCC) resolution to petition the President to execute the War Powers Resolution. (The DCRCC resolution may be viewed online; the CCRP resolution follows.) The CCRP board chose to issue Executive Resolution Number E-103 to support the DCRCC resolution. Church County Republican Central Committee adopted and passed this resolution earlier this month.
Woody Stroupe, acting chairman of the Clark County Republican Party, said of the executive resolution, “The Clark County Republican Party shares the concern of our fellow Republicans in northern Nevada about the need to follow the guidelines of war as outlined by the Constitution. We join with them in calling on Congresswoman Berkley, Congressman Heck, and Senators Heller and Reid to reclaim their federal duties and ensure that President Obama either obtains approval for sending U.S. forces into Libya or to withdraw them completely.”
