Former ACU Executive Director Chuck Muth Joins GOProud’s Advisory Council

(NN&V Staff) – Today, GOProud, the only national organization of gay conservatives and their allies, announced that Chuck Muth, former Executive Director of the American Conservative Union, is joining the organization’s Advisory Council.

“Chuck Muth is a committed conservative who brings a wealth of experience working within the movement,” said Christopher Barron, Chairman of GOProud’s Board. “We are honored to have Chuck join the GOProud leadership team.”

“A person doesn’t have to be straight to think right,” Muth said. “While it’s expected that not everyone will agree with every position of any given organization, GOProud certainly meets Ronald Reagan’s 80 percent threshold for qualifying as an ally. And I would remind those who wish to exclude gays from the conservative movement that you win majorities through addition, not subtraction. I’m honored to have been invited to join the national advisory board of this important and bona fide conservative organization.”

Muth joins Margaret Hoover, Grover Norquist, Andrew Breitbart and Liz Mair on the GOProud Advisory Council.

Chuck Muth is President and CEO of Citizen Outreach and a professional political communications consultant.

He is a former executive director of the American Conservative Union, a National Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus, a Clark County (NV) GOP chairman and former Nevada Republican Party executive director.

Chuck is also a professional campaign trainer who volunteers as a national field instructor for numerous groups, campaigns and organizations.

He is also the publisher of Nevada News & Views – Nevada’s leading online conservative newsblog – an independent free-lance columnist, an author, and a regular guest on political and public affairs TV and radio programs.

Chuck lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, with his wife Gia, their two daughters, Kristen and Jenna, and son, “CJ.”

“Chuck is one of the most well respected voices in the conservative movement and we are incredibly fortunate to have him join the GOProud team,” concluded Barron.
