Jill vs. Jesse: Why the CCRP Chair Race Matters More Than You Think

For those of you planning to vote at the Clark County Republican Committee meeting tonight,  it will be very important for the 2026 local races.

State senators, state assembly members, 65 judicial seats to be voted on (!!), Clark County commissioners, school board races,  regents, and many municipal races.

The more successful the local Republican party is,  the better it is for all conservatives living in Clark County.  We must crumble that blue wall.

I’m supporting Jill Douglass.

She is energetic, smart, hands-on, and a great motivator. She will raise a lot of money,  so in turn the party can support strong candidates.

She has shown her skill running the Battle Born Republican Women’s Club.   She also ran a strong campaign in Senate District 6,  where she raised a lot of $s.

She got close.  She testified many times during the legislature.  She is a dedicated conservative with common sense ideas.

During the last several elections cycles, candidates were left out in the cold financially because the CCRP did not raise enough money.  They can barely afford to hold a meeting.

Think of it this way…

There are about 388K registered Republicans in Clark County.   The CCRP has about 500 members.  That’s .13%!  …not even 1/2%.

Shouldn’t we strive to have 5% members?   That would be about 20,000 members.   Nobody donates to the party.   Hardly anyone new joins.

And we are facing a mid-term.  There won’t be much funding from the RNC (Republican National Committee) or Presidential campaign like last year, so the role of the CCRP can be pivotal.

Incumbent Chairman Jesse Law brags about having helped get the President elected and endorsed by DJT.

What he leaves out is that the presidential campaign paid for all his boots on the ground,  the offices, and the supplies.

The president’s campaign needed an infrastructure to base the operations on and yes,  CCRP provided that.   And they were extremely supportive of the Republican candidate – I would hope so!

It gets credit for what its volunteers did.  They knocked on doors, they registered voters,  and they chased ballots.

But with the current ~500 CCRP members,  the impact is limited.

The brunt of the work was done by all the grassroots groups that invested here for the 2024 elections:

Turning Point Action,  American Majority,  Moms for Liberty, Elon Musk’s group American Party,  Repair the Vote (voter ID), the NV Firearms Coalition, Americans for Prosperity,  the Republican Jewish Coalition, and the Log Cabin Republicans.

And all the smaller volunteer precinct-based organizations like Summerlin Conservatives,  Anthem Conservatives,  Heritage Conservatives, NevadansCAN,  Lake Las Vegas, and all the GOP women’s clubs, and the Nevada Republican Club.

In addition, Keystone Corps supporting our candidates and Nevada Policy helping defeat Ranked Choice Voting.  Not to mention the hard working candidates who were on the beat day after day with their volunteers.

We all stepped up to the plate.

I am optimistic that tomorrow we will have a new CCRP Chair.  But we all have to sit through another boring evening tonight.   Hopefully the last.

Let’s show up!
