Oops! The UN’s Doomsday Climate Machine Was a Lie All Along

The Greatest Climate Con in History Just Collapsed – and You Paid For It

Imagine paying trillions of dollars for a car alarm that never needed to go off. That’s basically what just happened with the United Nations’ flagship climate doomsday model.

For decades, the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change — the IPCC — has been screaming that the world is about to end.

Rising seas. Collapsing crops. Glaciers gone. Cities underwater. The whole horror movie.

And based on that horror movie, governments around the world — including ours — spent trillions of your dollars trying to “fix” it.

Well. Funny story.

Turns out the scariest part of the whole forecast was… made up.

In April 2026, the scientific committee that feeds data to the IPCC quietly published a new framework for climate modeling. And buried inside the fine print was an admission that should have been front-page news everywhere.

The most extreme emissions scenario the IPCC has been using for the past two decades — the one behind all those terrifying headlines — “has become implausible.”

Those are their words. Not ours.

The scenario is called RCP8.5. It’s also been known as SSP5-8.5. Fancy names for a simple idea: a world where coal use explodes, nobody does anything about emissions, and temperatures spike catastrophically by 2100.

This model assumed a five-fold increase in global coal use and a world population approaching 13 billion people by 2100. Neither of those things was ever going to happen.

Energy experts knew it. Demographers knew it. Apparently, the only people who didn’t know it were the ones using it to justify massive green energy mandates and trillion-dollar climate slush funds.

Climate researcher Roger Pielke Jr. — who’s been warning about this for years — put it bluntly. He said the scenarios were describing “a world so removed from plausible reality that the projections built on them tell us more about a hypothetical future than about the one we are actually navigating.”

Translation: they were scaring you with a ghost story.

And what a ghost story it was.

The climate lobby used RCP8.5 to justify the Paris Climate Agreement, the Green New Deal, electric vehicle mandates, restrictions on gas stoves, attacks on the American energy industry, and a near-religious campaign to remake the entire global economy.

All based on numbers that the people running the models now admit don’t hold up.

Even President Trump — who’s been saying this for years while being mocked as anti-science — got in a few well-deserved “told you so’s” on Truth Social.

He wrote that the UN “just admitted that its own projections were WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!” Hard to argue.

Now, the climate establishment is doing what it always does when caught. It’s quietly moving the goalposts and hoping nobody notices.

The new models have lower projected temperatures. Less catastrophic outcomes. A narrower range of scenarios.

They didn’t hold a press conference. They didn’t apologize. They didn’t offer refunds.

Here in Nevada, we’ve felt the cost of this climate hustle firsthand. Energy prices have gone up. Mining projects have been delayed or killed by environmental red tape tied to doomsday projections.

And Nevada politicians have pushed costly green mandates that hit working families in the wallet — all justified by the very models now being thrown in the trash.

The people who got rich off this — the consultants, the grant-chasers, the politically connected green energy companies — aren’t giving the money back.

But at least now we know. The apocalypse was always a sales pitch.
